This was a lot harder than I thought it was when I started. Narrowing everything down to 10 wasn't easy, except for the 70s as I have not watched a huge number of 70s (or earlier) flicks. I was forced to leave off a lot of very good movies.

70s
1 Star Wars - A New Hope (1977)
2 Robin Hood (1973)
3 Super Man
4 Rocky II (1979)
5 Blazing Sadles (1974)
6 Rocky (1976)
7 Young Frankenstein (1975)
8 Grease (1978)
9 Star Trek: The Movie (1979)
10 The Sting (1973)

1980s
1 The Princess Bride (1987)
2 Space Balls (1987)
3 Star Wars - Return of the Jedi (1983)
4 Police Academy (1984)
5 Who's Harry Crumb? (1989)
6 Back to the Future (1985)
7 Crocodile Dundee (1986)
8 Fletch (1985)
9 Lethal Weapon (1987)
10 Die Hard (1988)

1990s
1 The Fifth Element (1997)
2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
3 Braveheart (1995)
4 The Matrix (1999)
5 The Cutting Edge (1992)
6 Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
7 Independence Day (1996)
8 Hook (1991)
9 Necessary Roughness (1991)
10 Gattaca (1997)

2000s
1 Serenity (2005)
2 V for Vendetta (2005)
3 Get Smart (2008)
4 Transformers (2007)
5 Babylon A.D. (2008)
6 Underworld (2003)
7 Star Trek (2009(
8 The Whole Nine Yards (2000)
9 Sherlock Holmes (2009)
10 Forever Strong (2008)

2010s
1 She's Out of My League (2010)
2 Red (2010
3 The Avengers (2012)
4 Iron Man 3 (2013)
5 I Am Number Four (2011)
6 Dispicable Me 2 (2013)
7 Hanna (2011)
8 Dispicable Me (2010)
9 Robin Hood (2010)
10 Clash of the Titans (2010)

I see just about any movie that looks like it would not be horrible so this will be a bit difficult for me. I may go over 10 if I can't narrow it down.

2010s:
1. Inception (2010)
2. Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
3. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
4. Skyfall (2012)
5. Django Unchained (2012)
6. Man of Steel (2013)
7. Looper (2012)
8. Moneyball (2011)
9. Lincoln (2012)
10. The Avengers (2012)
11. Mud (2012)
12. The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
13. Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
14. Argo (2012)
15. Shutter Island (2010)

2000s:
1. Gran Torino (2008)
2. The Dark Knight (2008)
3. Inglorious Basterds (2009)
4. The Departed (2006)
5. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003)
6. Star Trek (2009)
7. Momento (2000)
8. Avatar (2009)
9. Slumdog Millionare (2008)
10. Sin City (2005)
11. Hotel Rwanda (2004)
12. V For Vendetta (2005)
13. 3:10 to Yuma (2007)
14. Gladiator (2000)
15. Road to Perdition (2002)

Took me like an hour and I still could only get it down to 15 for the 2010s and the 2000s. I don't think I have the attention span to do the 90s.

Some I rated higher simply because of originality/creativity. For the 2000s I started with like 30 or so that I cut down to 15, there were some like Troy and 300 that I loved but were simply all violence. Then there were movies like Gatsby and There Will Be Blood that almost warranted being listed because of the performance by the lead actor.

Gatsby I did not list because despite enjoying the movie and an amazing performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, I thought playing Jay-Z in a movie that was supposed to be taking place in the 20s was a huge turnoff for me. I also thought the female roles in that movie could have been cast better.

There Will Be Blood I did not list because despite being a good movie and an amazing performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, the movie got a bit dull at times for me.

'00's: Hot Rod

For the 2010's I gotta go with The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo remake.

'80's? I'm trying to think... What di I watch in the '80's? I was just a little tike... Short Circuit 2? :)

Glad to see there's another poster who is a fan of Ender's Game! I've also read the book like 5-6 times. Just recently finished listening to it on audio a few months ago to get me pumped up for the movie.

Definitely stoked for all the superhero films set to come out...the one I'm probably most excited about is going to be Batman vs Superman for Man of Steel's sequel.

Looks like you almost copied my list for the 2010s... :suds: Means you've got good taste.

Really looking forward to The Wolf of Wall Street. Watched that trailer a good 10 times by now. Scorsese has directed some of my favorite movies and DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors.

I've heard good things about Ender's Game book, I'm not familiar with it since most of the reading I do is non-fiction, but when I was seeing a movie with a friend she told me it was one of her favorite books. I might give it a read some time.

I would probably be more of an Enders Game person if I hadn't met the author. One of the biggest jerks I have ever met. Because of that experience I haven't read the book.

I put the Batman movies really high in my rankings but I have to say I never actually got the chance to watch the first one. Considered how much I loved the last two I should probably download it.

Batman Begins is good in its own way...but don't expect the grand spectacle that you see in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises

Begins was Christopher Nolan's first real big budget live action film, so when u watch it, you can kind of tell that he's sort of testing the waters with what he's able to do and focuses more on the story and the story of Bruce Wayne.

His films after that...The Dark Knight, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises...that's Nolan unleashing himself. First time I watched Batman Begins in 05 I gave it a 6.5/10 but watching it years later I've been able to appreciate the intricate story...it's now a 8/10 for me.

One of the benefits of growing up in Eastern Washington, there aren't very many famous people living there. Before moving to North Carolina (where I met Card) the most well known person I had met was Clint Didier (not very famous I admit). I have not been one who really longs to meet people of renowned, even passing the opportunity to meet Richard Sherman when he was in Vancouver last week. Just not something I get really geeked about. Like Card, I just don't want to meet someone in person and have their personality turn me off from something I would normally enjoy.

That said, when in sales I met my fair share of jerks who have no renown. Being a jerk is not reserved for those who have more attention paid to them than they need.
