If zona wins I bet that will be fun to celebrate with all the other zona fans that you don't know.

i know plenty of them. unfortunately i've never actually met them, and instead interact with them the only way i can...via an arizona message board.

but trust me, 13-year old me had plenty of fun jumping around my living room after, you know, 84-79 in OT

I always fill out three brackets. One for upsets, one for what I truly expect and one based on some asinine theory. This year was which city I would rather live in while last year was mascot brawls.

You irk me if you fill out even one bracket. College basketball died when kids started going straight to the pros or going after one year of college.

How many teams make it now, 68? GTFO

Why are you on the College Basketball Board? Go ride your high horse elsewhere, hardo.

you a PGU member?

Best guess: point guard university? No, I played baseball at LSU and earned my masters/doctorate at UCLA. I really only root for LSU because they were my first true love for college sports. I do appreciate when UCLA does well though! Like when they won the baseball championship last year.

I sometimes fill out two brackets on a left brain / right brain basis (ie, one totally objective and one where Wisconsin at least makes the Final Four).

But I try not to change everything and pick the same upsets because you're right, you can't brag about taking a 13 over a 4 if you've got every possible upset in a bracket.

Question:

Why would anyone brag about upsets? Everyone who picks, let's say, Mercer over Duke, does so knowing that only in extenuating circumstances will the upset happen. Which means that they know Duke will win 95% of the matchups, but they are picking the upset simply because of history. They KNOW there will be a major upset somewhere, and are hoping that THIS is the one. They don't (unless you are rmilia) truly believe the upset is likely, they just hope it happens. If it does, does it mean that person is a genius? No, just means they got lucky that THEIR 14 seed beat a 3 while the person who got "unlucky" picking UL-Lafayette to beat Creighton feels foolish when Creighton wins by 30.

But I am sure some of you play one or two brackets just so you can "brag" if you get that lucky upset and claim "I knew all along!" even though you likely have never seen the team that you chose to win play a game of basketball.

I don't fill out brackets, leads to lost expectations quickly.

But I do like to find a 1st round "dog" and watch er her for a round or two.

For today..#13 NMSU over #4SDSU

You irk me.

Don't go bragging how you had Mercer over Duke just because you picked that on one of your 59 brackets. You know who you are.

Discuss.

I barely have the energy to fill out one bracket. I'm in one of those groups with friends/family on the CBS site. We've been doing it for yrs. When I fill out my bracket I usually take about a minute to a minute and a half to fill it out. I just blow right thru it and instantly convince myself I picked every game right. By 5 this afternoon my bracket will be blown up and i'll be pissed as hell. Makes no sense but I do it to myself every yr. I'm 51 and my MOTHER finishes ahead of me yr in and yr out. In fact everyone finishes ahead of me. Love this time of yr becuz right now I'm tied for 1st !!!!
