Couldn't believe it when I read it. Getting some of the Pitchers back and maybe making a move or 2 at the deadline. M's might actually be able to do it.

There are 7 teams within two games of the wild card.
As for making deadline moves. The last time the Mariners went all out to get one of the better players available at the deadline was 1995 when they picked up Benes. One of the reasons why Lou Piniella left was because of the crap the Mariner would bring in at the deadline. I think Al Martin was the last straw for Sweeet Lou.
