    That's stupid.

If he's gonna sit and refuse to play, he won't have a scholarship anymore, so any coaching and teaching he's gonna get would have to come out of his own pocket, and not from one of the best coaching staffs in the country.

He's the projected first overall pick 3 years from now, but he still needs to develop over the next two seasons, or his draft stock will dramatically drop and he'll be far less prepared to be an NFL QB.

This would never happen, but it would be a stupid decision on his part if he did it.

Like getting urban to teach a course on ethics

    Sorry, couldn’t resist ‘eyes fans

Like Chew said above, loss of coaching, assistance, and being in game situations, no way that could help him

Actually I think somebody should re-challenge the 3 year out of high school rule in light of the new NFL policy to require permission from universities to interview their coaches. One could make the argument that the NFL is treating the NCAA as a partner not a separate entity. In that light it seems much more like the 3 year rule is written to help their partner, not to protect themselves from players not being ready.

But as to that actual question, I think playing time is more helpful to a QB than natural talent. I think he'd hurt himself long term more than he would help himself. Especially with the NFL setting rookie wage scale, and real money coming in a second contract.

Maybe if it was still the old old rookie wages it would have made sense to sit out 2 years in order to get that Jamarkus Russelesque 50 million guaranteed. But now even #1 overall rookue QB's will get like 5-7 million guaranteed. And a mid range or actual franchise QB going into his second contract with get 25+ million per year. If he wants to make real money, he should do everything he can to make himself in demand on that 2nd contract. Which means getting better, not sitting out.

He has only played 15 games at the collegiate level, where a number of those games were against teams far inferior to his own and devoid of the large majority of highly skilled talent and speedy and strong players he'll be facing in the NFL.

Yeah he looked great out there but he has so much more to see and learn that can better prepare himself to be a successful NFL player.

I, for one, would completely support his decision should he decide to make it.

I had to open the thread to see who this Trevor was. My first thought was Hugh Trevor-Roper. Not an instantaneously recognizable one name icon, so he needs to keep playing!
