Would you Bring in OBJ if he was released?
Right money I would. Bill has had great luck with WR's that others have drafted and he has had great luck with players that once had great potential but became thorns or needed redemption.

Beckham is 5-foot-1, 198. He’s a physical player.
His combine times, 3-cone 6.69, short shuttle 3.94, 4.43 40.

Went to the store after dinner to pick up some frozen yogurt. WEEI says that OBJ would like to come to NE. He could come cheap because the Browns owe him $*M more in guaranteed money this year.

Guest on the show said that OBJ is a trifecta "NO"

1. Constantly misses time because of injury
2. Has not played consistently good since 2017
3. Couldn't play with two totally opposite QBs. Eli Manning and Baker Mayfield. When there are problems with everyone else, maybe the problem isn't with them.

He will be somewhere. Will he be happy or be OBJ???

If BB is moving toward getting him, the transactions today will tell us.

Any team that claims him is on the hook for $8M. If he clears waivers, then he can take the best deal or go to exactly the team where he wants to play. Love him or hate him, when his head is on straight, he's a difference maker.

So did Moss. The difference between Moss others is he's actually a very smart guy and saw his best "play" and played it right.... until he didn't.

Browns informed WR Odell Beckham of his release.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio initially reported the move, while Yahoo's Charles Robinson has since confirmed it. Since the trade deadline has come and gone, Beckham must first clear waivers even though he is a vested veteran. Florio reports that is where the tricky part comes in, as Beckham has agreed to a "revised contract that reduces the team’s obligation to pay Beckham, if he’s not claimed on waivers and becomes eligible for the balance of his salary termination pay." As Florio points out, the key for Beckham is making sure his salary does not go low enough that he actually gets claimed. Beckham wants to clear waivers and be free to choose his new home. Robinson reports the Browns "failed to receive any trade offers for Beckham," with perhaps only the Saints even considering one. Slowed by injury and intrigue during his star-crossed time in Cleveland, Beckham's initial market could be uncertain, but he will undoubtedly draw interest from a gaggle of competing teams.

But it's kinda a flag when you have to preface somebody's ability with "when his head is on straight"...

I've learned with jars that if the lid isn't on straight food will go bad. I've adjusted my technique so I always turn the lid left until I feel the grooves line up, then turn right until the lid is tight. I'm not sure how to make sure a persons head is always on straight.

Ochojohnson got here in what...his 12th season?

And OBJ is in his 7th (?).

OBJ may have a few more good games in him than 85 did.
Besides, 85's greatest strength was his ability to freelance downfield. That wasn't going to work in NE with either BB or TB.

That.

If he clears waivers he's going to know he is on his last chance and may want to prove his value.
Which is where BB shines when bringing in those that need to prove themselves.

For a million $$ ??

Oh, hell yes.

Beckham and the Browns reportedly are working on a contract restructure that would reduce his base salary to roughly $1 million. If the contract is not reworked, a team claiming Beckham would be on the hook for his $8.05 million salary.
The Patriots currently have just under $2.6 million in salary cap space, per Patriots cap guru Miguel Benzan.

I could be wrong, as I often am about BB, but Bill seems to like Harry. Maybe just maybe the kid turns it around and helps this offense morph into something solid.

And fuck OBJ. That said, he'll be a Patriot in 5.........4........3.......2.......
