But that’s the problem. When you drop 4 chances to 3 you have made things more difficult. You don’t need to score, on first and second, just get closer. What team wouldn’t score 80% or more of the time on 1st and goal, from the 2 if they just even ran 4 QB sneaks?

Are you watching the Chargers game?

You can question why pick up the player, but the contract is fine otherwise.
Isnt contract become guaranteed if they start the season on the final roster anyways.
Dont those rules completely honestly.

but I do remember BP trying to be cute one season. Keeping one of his guys (a RB) for week 1 so he could get paid for the season, thinking he could sneak Matt Moore on to the PS. but the dolphins claimed him. Waiving the RB on week 2.

Anyways. If all these thoughts are true. fully guaranteeing a 1 yr contract matters not if he made the team week 1.
Why would any team fully guarantee a $6M contract for a back-up QB that hasn't been a top 48 QB in 4 years and had every chance of being beaten out for the back-up role? (Which is effectively what has happened). Why not offer him a $2M guarantee and a salary of $4M that would guarantee Week 1 of the regular season? Better still, why not make part of the $6M conditional on game-day roster appearances? Who else was competing for Zach Wilson's services? If Zach Wilson had been on the PS would any other team have tried to poach him? There were multiple back-up QBs in the NFL who are considered to be much better than Zach Wilson who are signed to significantly less money. This was an egregious waste.
