He is extremely immature, but he is at least working on improving the weaker parts of his game.

I think the fact that he elevated his defense to almost average is promising. If he grows up a bit he will be awesome. I am not sure how he will adapt to being a number 2 as Antman is the clear 1 of the future.

I'll give him props for the Bones Hyland pick, but Connolly has been a mixed bag in free agency and trades.

He can scout draft talent just fine, that's not the issue. Free agency and trades are the issue.

Gave up Mitchell and Gobert for next to nothing. Last year, I thought there was no chance we'd bring back both Will Barton and JaMychal Green. Sure enough they were both back for a combined $25 million a year. Ludicrous.

Those iffy decisions may ultimately cost us Boogie this offseason.

My best advice is keep Glen Taylor away from basketball negotiations. Two playoff appearances in 18 years speak for itself.

That would have been amazing insight since no one could have predicted the injuries, but you did come in a little too high on them and way too high on Carlisle.

He led us to a franchise-record 61 win and been though the franchise's darkest days, from the brawl to the Artest trade saga to strip club gate.

He deserves full leash in this rebuild and you won't convince me otherwise.

He likely also would've made the Mavs more competitive against GS... And may I remind you Casey was his assistant when the Mavs won the title.

The other way to look at it was he was at the helm when all that bad stuff went down. He led you to a record win total and got you where? The Mavs are clearly more competitive this year without him there.

The Mavs got on an incredible hot streak and were still lucky that Wade, LeBron, and Bosh had not learned how to play together yet to get their championship. Carlisle is a mediocre coach, not bad, but not great. I feel the same about Casey, so bringing him in does not help your cause here. Lightning will not strike twice-Carlisle won't get your team to the promised land.
