I didn't see any point in dwelling on that oh so ugly game last week so the sooner we can turn our attention to week 2 to the better off we are...from a mental health perspective.
Up next...the Seattle Seahawks..1-0 after narrowly getting by CIN at home in week one.
The Bengals really outplayed the 'Hawks coming up with 22 first downs in the game compared to only 12 for SEA. Russell Wilson was sacked a ton in 2018 and if the 1st game is any indication, he will be getting sack a lot this year as he went down 3 times vs the Bengals front and add in another one from a blitzing CB for a total of 4 sacks.
Who is hurting?
Pouncey, Watt, Haden were all nicked up in the NE game. Coupled with Nix and Sean Davis, this is who we're watching this week. Pouncey and TJ appear to be relatively minor. Haden has a shoulder, he did go back into the game after the injury but only for a few plays. Davis is reportedly ready to practice this week so we'll see tomorrow as I think they're off today.
Amazingly Vegas has PIT as the early favorite at -4 as of today. They face a totally different style of OFC this week. 'Hawks will bring the DEF as they always will under Pete Carroll...AVill will need to have a solid game, but going up against a taller DE in Clowney might not be a bad thing.
Tomlin teams tend to bounce back after very poor efforts...well, it can't get much poorer than what we saw last week. I look for them to play better on both sides of the ball.
Outcome
While I expect SEA to play a little better on OFC this week also, but PIT's def is at least on the level with CIN and I'm thinking Ben steps up his game. I think PIT will get a W and cool off the smoking hot locker room...21-17 Steelers.
