Since the nation is so concerned about Americans not having the diversion of sports because of … well … you know, will mlb be doing its part and giving us all free access to all of the televised games this year?

Doubt it. If I were them, I'd go all pay per view and earn back the loss of ticket sales.

Yeah, I'm sure that wouldn't interfere with any TV contracts in place. lol

As long as the government is in a spending mood - they can purchase the MLB rights and put them on for something for us to do while we stay home.

....sure, because the thread title says "practical thinking"

I was mostly goofing around with ya. But that being said...

Generally speaking, wishful thinking still involves ideas within the realm of reason.

MLB.TV gives away extended free trials every year. I think they did it for all of April a year or two ago. It's not that wild to think they could give two months away under these circumstances.

Let’s all hope the season actually takes place. Trout is starting to have second thoughts, which is a nightmare for Manfred.

I don't see any anxiety among the White Sox that have been quoted. The coaches are a higher risk. I think this White Sox team sees opportunity in a 60 game schedule - they want to play.

It's college football that doesn't make any sense = in terms of who takes the risk and who gets the reward.

Two Sox players tested positive for covid. No names were mentioned but both are asymptomatic.

Sox announce two players test positive for COVID-19

which means the others did not, which means they would be susceptible. i still think they'd be in danger. maybe most would also be asymptomatic but a certain percentage would not (based on current averages). worth it? not to me it wouldn't be. but they're young and i'm sure they feel invincible (tho some mlb players have already dropped out if i read correctly).
... waiting to get the results from my own test and hoping i already have it (how often do you hope you get a dreaded virus?).
