I am just watching a replay of them right now on ESPNU from last year.........man, they are a well coached team. I am seriously very nervous for that game up in Madison........

Bielema is 32-3 at home since taking over as head coach at Wisconsin.

That means he is winning 92% of his home games............and that means we need to play extremely well.

The one thing that I noticed while watching this team is this...........Wisconsin didn't have a great QB (but he was a good field manager), and if they had a QB who could run, they may have won every game last year. Well guess what.........now they have one of those QBs.

What a game that is gonna be. I guarantee you I will not sleep even 1 hour the night before it.

So am I, the Iowa game?

Yea. I think Iowa played about as good of a game as they could in that one..........still couldn't get it done. Wisconsin just plays some nasty physical football, and they do it well.

Yeah that game looms...but it's Iowa and Spartans that decide the division most likely.

A lot of hype but I'll be happy with a BCS game. The oline is limping already.

Me either. But thats cuz I'm gonna be partying with the locals. I have many friends there (I used to live in Madison).

The funny thing was when I was there, Pederson was in charge and he hired Callahan who then picked up Coz. Most of my football-loving friends were ecstatic to be getting rid of Coz, as was I, until I realized where he was going....

Hey, I was at that game.....

I'd challenge the statement that Scott Tolzien was not a great quarterback. The guy was incredibly accurate. Something like 85% of his passes hit their receivers, and that was with a receiving corp that wasn't very good. If people are expecting Russell Wilson to be a lot better than Tolzien, I think they will be very dissapointed.

That game was a pretty low point for our secondary. They got burned a couple of times in embarrassing fashion, which was something that was not typical of the rest of the year. We return Aaron Henry, a really good safety, and two solid cornerbacks in Fenelus and Devin Smith. If Shelton Johnson can play well at the other safety slot, you shouldn't expect Nebraska to burn us deep.

The thing about our team this year is that we are solid everywhere. We lost five people that are going to be starting for NFL teams, as well as a great QB and RB. What we lack in star power, we make up for in consistent performers. Of our 24 starters this year, 21 have significant playing time before. If you are going to beat us, it won't be by exploiting weaknesses. It will be by slowly wearing us down.

I can't wait until the 1st. Hopefully, we will both be undefeated going in so our teams can get the national attention they deserve.

Hey Smart:
Were you @ the '03 UW vs OhioSt game? I sold my ticket for $80 and used that as my bar tab at the Big 10 Pub. Got stuck outside in the rain with a vet student from Stevens Point and 2 pints of Morgan. I got inside about 10mins before Sorgi got choked out of the game (literally, an OSU LB had his hand on his throat, choking the UW QB). I thought all was lost until Schabert (?) hit Lee Evans. WOW!! I still get goosebumps when I think of it! Truly my favorite non-Nebraska game of all-time....and a "free" bar tab to boot!

Thanks SEC. if i had a ticket, it'd be yours for $80.
But then again, that was for the defending National Champion Buckeyes...in 2003. A friend of mine sold a pair of his season tickets for this years Nebraska game for $650+ on Ebay. Let me tell you something, I could take that $650, drive to and from Madison from Grand Island (where I'm at), party it up, tailgate, watch the game at one of MANY downtown bars and STILL come home with money in my pocket.

I wasn't at that game. I remember that game very well, though. I did get to storm the field after beating OSU last year. While the ending wasn't as exciting, i'll never forget that opening kickoff. You just knew at that moment that we were going to win. People forget that we were not playing very well entering that game, and at that moment you got a feeling that the squad was finally ready to fufill their potential.

That Iowa game that this thread was started about was something else, though. What people don't realize is that on the Ball touchdown for the lead, the stadium replay officials broadcast a view that seemed to suggest that it was a fumble. Nobody in the stadium had any idea that Ball had actually crossed the goal line, and Iowa fans were celebrating the victory. When the refs made the (correct) call, they got really frustrated and the stadium became really rowdy. That last drive was as tense as anything I can recall at a football game, and when Taylor made the tackle for the win it was probably as exciting as any moment I can ever remember at a sporting event. Some of my friends who were at that game compared it to the 03 OSU game and the 05 blocked punt against Minnesota as the most exciting Badger endings they could remember.

If you or any other Huskers fans really want a ticket, i'll look around campus. There are a lot of really good fans in our fan base, but there are also a lot of people who show up to football games at the end of the first quarter and leave after the Jump Around. For these people, it really isn't worth it to pass up $100+ for their tickets. They'll put up fliers on different boards around campus with their number and how they want. I'll probably update this thread or make another when I see the average cost, but i'd imagine they'd cost in the $150-$200 range.

The thing about our student tickets is that you wait in line, and upon clearing the line you are given an assigned seats. This means that if you are willing to show up three hours before the game, you will get the best seat in Camp Randall. If you can deal with the constant "asshole" chants you will hear for wearing Nebraska gear in our student section, it can actually be a really good value.

I would expect nothing less than some harassment. However, like I said earlier, I used to live there, and I still have plenty of badger gear hanging around the house.

oh, and I would love to be in the middle of "Swingtown".....

Smart, there's already going to be a lot of Nebraska fans in Camp Randall because of Wisconsin generosity. Let these fellas enjoy the view from the outside like me(if I can get off work). No point in letting them have a noise advantage.

As for the game. I don't think people will be all that disappointed with Wilson. Tolzien really was an Iceman, but I think Wilson came to learn how to be a professional QB. He will do the little things. The question is will that offensive line have meshed, and will he be great at those little things(namely making that PA pass look really damn good) by October 1st.

I'm not sure what the game changer will be, but I think Wisconsin's defense will surprise Husker fans a bit. The Badgers lost a lot in JJ Watt, but Borland and Taylor should be as close to 100% as they've been since the 2009 season, and I've heard very good things about Nzegwu and Gilbert. Martinez will have to exploit something, and I do not agree that Devin Smith is a solid cornerback. Andrew Dalton lit him up like Roman Candle in the Rose Bowl last season. But then again TCU did have very good receivers.

I think the Nebraska coaches will have two guys targeted. Cornerback Devin Smith and Offensive Right Tackle Josh Oglesby. Oglesby has been hurt most of his career and has barely played. He had a dogfight to get the position. Bo will send somebody to test him. Already talked about Smith.
