The ASU fans wanted a place to talk, so now we have one.

My hunch is that we win the game 31ish to 17ish. Right now, this is the most complete Wisconsin team that I can remember. As soon as our defense makes contact, they are finishing plays. It's why we haven't given up a point yet. Our O-Line isn't getting a ton of forward push, but they are getting good lateral pushes. The result is back to back games with three running backs over 100 yards. Our biggest weakness is the lack of a #2 WR (besides Jared Abbredaris) and a kicking game.

This team lost a lot of close games last year. They are a year wiser. They have a better in-game coach (whose teams have now covered the spread in 16! straight games). Even with the tough environment and heat, I expect this team to persevere.

So what say you, Arizona State fans?

You really can't judge how good Wisconsin in based on playing 2 really really bad teams so far. 1 that is an FCS team and the other that played its first game in D1.

Wisconsin could go anywhere from 8-4 to 10-2 IMO based on improvements from last years team.

Umass and Tennessee Tech...watch out. lol

Umass just lost to Maine today. We will learn how good Wisconsin is this week, judging how good they are off of two meaningless games isn't very smart.

:) Welcome Smart.

Starve has looked impressive in those first two games, you think the kid has what it takes to come into Tempe and get it done with two of the best sac specialists in the league (Sutton and Bradford)?

Our offense will revolve around the run, not the pass. If we have to rely on the pass as anything more than a way to stop teams from stacking the box, it is a problem. Joel definitely has a huge arm. He can probably throw in 65 or so in the air, and can make quick throws if he has to. But we only have one good WR (and he is really, really good). If that guy is covered, Stave will have to settle for dumpoffs or throw the bal away/take sacks. I have faith that he won't turn it over, but if we have to throw it a lot 4-5 sacks wouldn't stun me.

But again, this is a team that revolves around the run. Our best back is Melvin Gordon, who had 10.0 YPC last year and 12.0 so far this year. He's one of the best backs in football. Our second best back is the leading career rushing back in America. And our #3 back is the best Badger freshman that I can remember (i'm too young to remember Dayne's freshman year, but I can remember just about all since then). I think we have the best running back stable in America, and I sort of doubt anyone on our schedue can contain them completely.

I'd say ASU has as good as or better of a defense than Oregon State had last year.

I'm thinking...ASU 27 Whiskey10

We started last year scoring 24 against Northern Iowa. At the end of the regular season, we dropped 63 points in 37 minutes on Nebraska with our #3 QB. We would have scored 28 or so on OSU, at least, at the end of the year.

Just throwing this out there: our first team offense hasn't been stopped since the third quarter of the Arizona game last year.

We scored 28 unanswered against UA in the 4th quarter

We cored on our first 7 possessions against Navy

We scored on our first 5 possessions against Sac St.

All of those defenses are terrible but it really speaks to how efficient our offense is.

ASUs defensive line can win them this game. You wont be able to run on Hood, Sutton, Young and Martin. We also have a really solid secondary where your qb will throw ints all day. GO DEVILS BABY 34-17 Devils we break away in the 4th.

If Wisky wants to run into the teeth of that ASU d line... Good luck with that.

Will Sutton... FEED ME MOAR!

I think Norvell wasn't showing anything to Sac State. Also Sac State was throwing away from Sutton and playing dink and dunk football 3 step drops quick throws no roll outs. Sac State was just trying to save embarrassment.

Given our struggles against the run last year, going up the gut is probably their best bet. Our LBs are too fast for them to go off tackle consistently and we have a very good secondary combined with one of the best pass rushes in the country.

To clarify, by score I meant TD. None of that FG shit.

What has been lacking from the Badger team under Brett Belimica is they lacked an aggressive D which couldn't compete vs elite offenses, a balanced run/pass game, and an in game coach that can make game winning decisions. Unlike Brett, Gary Anderson has and will make the better in game decisions. The defense is now a 3-4 defense which brings confusing blitzes and man to man coverage instead of soft zone with prevent defense. The offense is now more balanced than ever and can come from behind with the passing attack or run out the clock with the run game. The weakness is special teams as the kicker is pathetic. If this is a close game I fear the Badgers will miss the game winning FG or lose in OT due to this reason. Both teams are legit contenders for their conference title and are both legit top 20 teams that can make a significant statement next week. IMO this is the game of the week and will be a defensive struggle early with some late fireworks and drama. I can see anyone winning this by no more than 7 points.

What will be interesting to see is if Wisconsin makes any mental errors on D due to the change to the 3-4. Our offense will be going fast, it will be hot, and the most important part of the game will be played past midnight Wisconsin time. There will be fatigue and they'll have a tough time getting the play call in. We'll probably see Wiscy's defensive playcalling get more and more vanilla as the game goes on.
