So, our winter trip has been cancelled. Now I've got some vacation days to use. Thought a trip to golf and hike in December would be a good substitute. Any recommendations? Initially, was thinking the obvious (Arizona, Florida, Carolinas), but incorporating a visit to Little Rock to see family might be good.

got back from 5 days at Pinehurst. 70's before we got there, 70's the day we left, high forties, cloudy cold while there. Played #2,3,4, and the Cradle. If you breath on your ball on #2 the ball will roll off the green. Great trip.

The cradle is low key the best thing to do in Pinehurst.

It's easy to tell why #2 is the US Open course but I don't have a whole lot of interest of playing it again. On the other hand, I'd hop back on #4 anytime.

You should have played Tobacco Road while down there. Arguably the most fun I've ever had on a golf course. Like giant mini golf.

I did play Tobacco Road on the way down. Third time I've played it, but it was raining and cold. I've been to PH a few times, I've played #3.#4, and #8 the most. Their adding a tenth course to the group next year. Price drop the week before I played, #2 was $395 instead of $450. Then you need a caddie on top of that. Pricey for 18 holes of golf.
