I am not overlooking the fact that we need to win before we're in.

That being said, if we make the big dance who would you rather face in the first round? Chicago or Anaheim? I'd rather play Chicago right off the bat.

Nonsense... Anaheim is a much worse team than their record shows and they are very beatable.

They will probably lose to whomever they play in the first round and I'm still hoping that the Sharks fall to #7 (~18% chance or something) to play them since that's about the only team they (Sharks) have a legit shot at beating in a 7-game series.
