The more I watch Choo the more he would be good for the Giants. I liked the swing last night for a HR late in the game against the Pirates. How much would it take to bring him into the fold? He is the guy for left field. I have heard Elsbury but Choo has more power right?

How do you guys feel about getting Choo? How many years? How Much cash? 5/75mil - 80 mil

Will he want to come to AT&T Park?

I would LOVE Choo to the Giants.

Prob is that he would cost us our top pick (#14) AND about 20M per.

No thanks.

While Ellsbury is decent, he is a product of Fenway. Not interested in him at all at the cost it will take to get him.

I would love Choo, but he'll cost $100MM and the 13th pick in the draft.

Who else is there then? Does everyone cost us the 13th pick in the draft? How about that Dominican kid at 1st base and move Belt to left?

Signing a FA player whose previous team gave him a qualifying offer (1 year, about $14M) will lose us a draft pick. So, basically, anybody really good will cost us our first round pick.

And by 'Dominican kid', did you mean the Cuban 1B Jose Dariel Abreu ??

Nobody thinks here that a plus power bat would be needed? Or, would the draft pick and $$ make that unlikely to impossible?

And which "plus power bat" are you referring to in this year's FA class? Remember that our only potentially open spots are 1B and LF (and MAYBE 3B, if Panda gets traded).
