Pretty sure he has said that he will only take a Head Coaching job or be in the booth so while the rumors are out there I think it is more based on him being a good fit rather than there actually being any interest.

That's what he says now but we'll have to see what kind of offers he actually gets.

My guess is he'll be a DC some place next season.

I'd think that every team in the league would have interest in Rex Ryan as their defensive coordinator.

I would love to have Rex Ryan be our defensive coordinator. Sounds unlikely to happen, though.

I think the Pats should hire him as a high paid defensive consultant so other teams can't get him.

For now he only seems to want a head coaching job.

Why?

I think he and his brother are the two most overrated coaches in football today. Toss their father in and you have a solid all time list on your hands.

The thing with him though is has an alternative if he doesn't get the HC job that doesn't make him have to be a Coordinator. Just about every tv group would love to get him as a broadcaster so he has other options. Now my hope is the Broncos will bring him in as a consultant for the playoffs while he is looking for a HC job. Then maybe he just falls in love with Denver and wants to stay.

He's a head coach. I'd be shocked if he took a DC gig, at least at this point.

I think he would also do well as the Bears DC.

He obviously wants to be a HC though and a DC job could potentially get him there. He's basically retiring from football if he takes a television gig.

Not really...others have done it and come back. Plus he has the personality type that wouldn't be satisfied with just walking away from the game with how things ended. Yes a DC job could get him to that HC job just like it is looking that way for the Broncos current DC in Del Rio, but there seems to be enough interest in him right now plus having the alternative to coaching available that he can really pick what he wants.

He might be still owed a years salary for 2015 from the jets,.....if so, why not sit out the 2015/yr. and do some tv,.....unless he gets a $48-mill. Deal to HC the raiders......lol.
