Will Raleigh Durham or Charlotte get a MLS Team?

I understand their are 4 mls teams that might be added to major league soccer before 2020. 2 are supposed to be announced this year. St. Louis, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Sacramento, Raleigh-Durham, Phoenix or Glendale I believe, etc. Which cities do you think will be awarded an mls franchise and do you think charlotte and raleigh/durham can both support 2 mls teams in North Carolina or it'll be one or the other? I think their the railhawks/North Carolina FC.

Carolina is such a shit market.

I hope it's Phoenix. What they are doing out there is awesome, by somehow convincing Drogba and SWP to sign in the USL is just nuts. Their prospective stadium looks tits too.

I don't understand the Sacramento love.

I hope San Diego gets in and goes with the Footy McFootface name that's leading in the polls...

St Louis is pretty much in the bag. Charlotte would be a pretty good pick, IMO. After that, probably Nap town and Phoenix.

Between the 2 NC cities which one do you think will be rewarded a mls franchise? Raleigh/Durham or Charlotte? Raleigh could use another pro sports team just in case the canes leave town after this season.

I'm guessing it would be Raleigh/Durham; a good hotbed for soccer. They'd likely need to expand their current stadium capacity by at least 5,000 to be able to support a team.

Of the list I'd say St. Louis (most think that's a done deal), Phoenix, Sacramento, and Indianapolis.

I could see one of the NC cites getting a team, but not both.

LAFC starts next season and their new stadium is already underway (and looks kick ass)

I believe Miami is just waiting for formal approval from MLS at this point also, and just Dade County just approved the land for their stadium.

Who do you think is still the best front runner to land a MLS expansion team Charlotte or Raleigh. Raleigh is a rapidly growing city. Charlotte is the biggest city in NC that has a AAA baseball team, hornets, and panthers. Raleigh only has the Canes. Recently North Carolina FC hired a coach who used to be with the US men’s national soccer team. Some people are saying he’s too old for the coaching position. But he has experience. I hear that NCFC could get media attention since he’s a big name coach. Could help them become a mls team if they do well with him. At the end though which city as of now is better prepared to land a MLS franchise? His name is Dave Sacarhan.

MLS is looking for a 30th city to house a franchise Im not sure which cities are front runners right now but if you had to choose would it be Raleigh or Charlotte?
