The Tribe has their own short chubby looking third basemen but he is AMAZING and signed up forever at a very team friendly contract.

Jose makes;

2018: 2.4M
2019: 3.75M
2020: 6.25M
2021: 9.0M
2022: 11.0M team option
2023: 13.0M team option

total: $45.4M for this year and 5 additional years. One of the best bargains in baseball.

I'd to talk baseball with you fellas. But I'm a Marlins fan. If you want to know which is the worst franchise in all of sports, look no further. I think we even give the Browns a run for their money.

Pablo is a much better bargain. He costs the Giants $500K per year.

They just won 3 of 4 from us thanks a lot. I think they've beaten the Giants 8 of the last 10

I guess, but post-Wayne Huizenga is what I'm gauging. Loria's team beat the Yankees his first year as owner, but that team was built in Huizenga's tenure. We've been in about several rebuilds since 2003 and there's no end in sight. Just 2 1/2 months until football season.

cmon brah...Jose Ramirez is one of the best players out there and costs a pittance in baseball terms.
$500k is a much smaller pittance though, obviously.

Ramirez is great, but Pablo is truly the biggest bargain in the game. thanks Boston!

Thread was stupid anyways. Hijacking deserved.

Btw, reports are PG could consider re-signing. What do you think the Thunder do if he resigns or possibly if he doesn't?

i dunno

I think Kluber migth be the best value in the game

10M for him?

counting this year- 4 years of Corey Kluber for 55m?

on the open market he would prob get close to 30M a year. Tahts a ton of value

Sandoval might only make 500k but what would he get on the open market if he was a FA right now? 5M? MAYBE 7-8M?

Ramirez makes less than 3M - on the open market he would get AT LEAST 25. Ramirez and Kluber BLOW away Sandoval and its not even particularly close.

God I hope he resigns.

I am beginning to even up the odds on LA and CLE--- I think its a toss up between those 2 for LeBron.

But if i see "Paul George signs extension to stay in OKC" come across the crawler at the bottom of the TV or on ESPN.com- you can pretty much kill any chance AT ALL that LeBron has of going to LA

if Paul George stays in OKC the Lakers are basically fucked this offseason. I think there is at least an 80% chance he goes to LA- but if he doesnt- ill be very happy since it totally and completely eliminates what I think is Cleveland's biggest competitor for LeBron.

If PG stays with OKC, I think the Lakers will probably still go after Boogie, but be prudent with the rest of their cap space. I think they'll try to sign a couple free agents to biggish 1 year contracts to save room for next year. Then Kawhi and Klay could potentially be on the market. The year after it's Kyrie, Draymond, etc. As long as LA keeps their flexibility, they should still be a big draw.

The only place a Durant jersey is hanging in the rafters is at Key Arena.

I agree, but to a certain extent the "wait till next year" has been going on since like '14..if it starts to go into the '20's there might be some issues. lol.

On a serious note- the Lakers have everything teed up. Its why i am worried about them signing LeBron. They have their cap space. They have their Jeanie Buss in charge. They have their "great young core" (supposedly). They have the legacy of the Lakers as selling point (supposedly). They have their "recruiter extraordinaire" in Magic (supposedly). etc. etc. etc.

What happens if all of that does not amount to anything and the default again becomes, "well we will wait till next year"?

next years class is really good too though-

Klay, Kawhi maybe, Kyrie, (i think Draymond is the following year actually). I am sure there are more as well- not star level but probably pretty good.

Wait again next year is always preferable to "lets panic and fuck it up again for mediocrity" every day of the week to me. Better to make smart prudent moves than panic ones. Otherwise you end up losing Baron Davis and signing Corey Maggette to a huge deal. Lol.
