I've been wondering this. I think everyone has.

It's the perfect kind of handoff.
I think he does. Is there someone on staff that would make a good Head Coach?

Or is something completely different going to happen?

I still remember hearing Stoops retired on my way home from work that day.
The absolute jubilation as I heard that Riley was taking over.

I thought they meant Mike Riley.

Eventually he will lose back to back to Auburn and some drunk Bama fan will shoot and kill him. Won't be long.

Auburn hasn’t been able to stay within single digits within a year of beating Saban. They did manage to score 44 in 14. Too bad for them Bama managed to score 55.

Saban's assistants don't hang around long enough to be coaches in waiting. Kirby would have been a candidate, but he took the UGA job, and I doubt he'd leave it.

He won’t leave UGA, and won’t be asked to as long as the preseason rankings don’t dip.

Oh no.
That's not really their plan is it?

I just don't see him making a move now that he has it where he wants it.

I would go along with that for the time being. He's now making what Saban makes and the road is
much easier in the ACC than the SEC. All he could do at Bama is go downhill. Why do that? He could
become a legend at Clemson, at Bama all he'll be is compared to Bear and Nick.

When FSU ends its flirtation with Affirmative Action, we could cause them issues on a yearly basis, and that
might get him to thinking about bolting, but that would be a few years away.

Other than FSU, is there another ACC school that could chip away at Clemson's dominance? (By that I mean other than a one year flash in the pan type thing.)

I absolutely see him making it. Of course it’s a fair argument to say he can go no where but down at bama, but isn’t the same true for Clemson? What else would he need to prove there? I see him making a move if it comes open for two reasons
1) his alma mater nostalgia
2) no matter what Alabama has still been the best the past decade, it’s not like he would be leaving Clemson for Rutgers

Although the luster has come off their program...If Miami found the right guy, they could challenge based solely
on the HS talent in Broward and Dade County. Half of the state's 400 Div 1 recruits come out of those two counties.

Good gawd. Florida needs to learn what concentration and dilution means. Need to spread 'em out a little more.

Do those two counties include the IMG kids that come from all over the nation? (I have no idea where IMG is.)

While most recruits in Texas come from metropolitan Houston/DFW, even those reside a hell of a lot more counties than two!

IMG is up in Bradenton. (Tampa Area) Those players come from across the country. IMG has two teams. IMG BLue
and IMG White. IMG Blue competes across the country and only plays in state contenders. They do not compete
for the State title. IMG White also plays as an Independent, but their schedule is made up of contending teams
from the lower classes in the State. Their players are out-of-state, also.

IMG also won the National Title in Basketball last year. Montverde finished 3rd.

Panhandle plays good football also. Jacksonville is okay. Some Tampa area schools are dominant, many are so-so.
Just two or three schools in the Orlando area will challenge state-wide.
