Will glossy, painted cars ever go out of style?

That cocaine dealing dude tried stainless steel...which was pretty cool. They used to have wood. Maybe stucco would be nice.

The rust look is kinda' nice:

been seeing a lot of "sealed rust" around lately, of course also been seeing the flats.

@ some point in the next few months i will be doing my first paint job on our project truck. We have several flats in our options. Also considering doing rhino liner (or something similar) below the body lines.

The rust look got fairly big in the VW crowd. I'm not a fan.

I think matte black is a little over played, but I do really like other colors in matte, on the right car.

gonna be putting some black plasti dip on my hood as soon as it warms up to make it look like this:

and probably on a couple other spots of the jeep.

got gun metal grey plasti dip that i'm going to hit my rims with. I had black on them, but i got tired of the completely monotone black on black on black on black look

Damn...this thread turned out better than I hoped. That rhino liner Jeep is cool!! I'm getting the Waggy painted soon and this got me thinking of the potential. I'll probably go back to paint with woodgrain wallpaper for the sake of keeping like it was...but?

Big pics work in this forum.

dude, you should definitely go flat black with it, but keep the woodgrain sides...could look cool, IMO

Plasi dip it, see how it looks. The stuff is cheap, lays on the car easily, and is easy to peal off.

Hmmm. A bud of mine has a powder coat spraying biz. Mine only worry with that and rhino liner and PlastiDip is that rust must form underneath and you wouldn't know it until too late. Of course, I never keep a car that long anyway.

Said I wouldn't get 'er painted until I paid off last year's f'in taxes! Almost there.

Ha! This Wagoneer doesn't look like that Jeep. Guess you have to put a glossy clear coat over it.
