It's been a hell of a ride with Pete coaching these guys, sure. We did get the title because of him, but with the rest of the coaches shuffled in the offseason, he's pretty much the only one remaining to be put on the hot seat if the team can't get moving soon.

How soon can we expect to see him gone?

He's going to need a couple of years under .500 to be removed

Yup this and maybe next year are rebuilding years, year three in the new rebuild will be big for Pete.

They're going to have a lot of cap space next year so the rebuild could be quick and need to hit o-line guy in the first rounder

Seattle will have ridiculous cap room next season. Given how Seattle is trading away their picks like pills to a homeless guy in San Fran, I'd have to imagine we spend big next free agency.

But then again we gave out dumb contracts to Tyler Lockett (yes I know he had a TD after he decided to show up in the 4th quarter when the Bears didn't care) so my faith in this FO at this point is pretty absent.

Or find a good one in free agency.

Doesn't seem like many teams are letting good FA Olineman walk.. when there was a good one in Andrew Whitworth (sp?) we decided to instead pass on that, trade our 3rd and 2019 2nd (which will probably be high :L) and then sign him to a roughly equal value contract anyway.... whatever. This team is hot garbage atm.

If it wasn't for Wilson this team would be 0-16 easily. Maybe I'm acting overly dramatic given Wagner, Wright, and Baldwin are out.

The Bears didn't care because they had a 14 point lead with 10 minutes left? That is a good recipe for failure.

Well the staff already blew it with a 20 point lead at Green Bay, so what makes you think my statement is wrong?

Ya think?

2 road games to start the season. Numerous rookies starting and 3 of our 5 most experienced players out. Not exactly a pathway to success.

Yah well I thought the kid with one hand and the fat as fuck new runningback we have would pull it off. :gaah:

I thought Penny looked pretty good tonight.

I can't believe that our 5th round draft pick rookie didn't excel in his first NFL start.

So... sarcasm is a thing on the one handed comment.

You really thought Penny looked good? Wow. He was in there I assume because Carson was injured, right? Penny looked slow as fuck. Mind you I was very high on him as a draft pick but so far that is a fail pick as far as I'm concerned.

No. I been thinking a lot about my comments after the article came out.

It would be a slap in the face if we let him go this year. We are in the middle of a rebuild so give it time to blossom.

If by year 3 we are not above 6 wins then it's time to reevaluate our situation

My understanding is that Pete is very, very highly thought of by ownership. I would guess there's a < 1% chance he's out involuntarily.

Now, would I be shocked if he left on his own terms? Not necessarily - I could see him dipping back into the college game. I don't think it'd be after this year though.

It took Allen several years to decide to get rid of Bevell and Cable, 2 of the most... ire inducing coaches in team history (among fans).

Pete has a LOT of rope. Which is, as it should be. Look at the Giants and the Steelers, two of the best franchises in the league - they'll make changes, but they don't do it often.

Penny looks fat and slow, i feel like we might have a RB that thinks fat makes them better. Bettis would have been a MUCH better RB in his career had he not been 300 pounds. I think Penny looks like he wants to become a Penny shy of 300lbs. His belly is almost as big as Britts lol.

Speaking of Britt whats the news on him?
