YPC of 2.13 and 2.11. (2.6 on the season on second down.)

He was hurting the offense.

He has had success on first downs, that's it.
Week 5 of 2016. Bell went 32 yards on 14 attempts for a ypc of 2.29 against Baltimore.

So they both undearchieved against the Ravens.

Bell's first 5 games of his career in 2013 (as starter, just like Conner): 3.56, 2.13, 4.89, 1.85, 4.63

Sooner or later the backs are going to get paid, Zek and Barkley are coming down the pike here real soon.
So some front offices are gonna have to be smart about some of these contracts, QB's are gonna have to face a choice, do I need the highest contract or do I want a reliable back that can take some pressure off the passing game.....

Im sure Rodgers would re structure his deal if they gave him a real back!

Connor has 17 carries for 36 yards in their 2 losses.

And has 27 carries that weren't on first down. He's not Bell. And it matters.
Of course . Tough for anyone to he successful when you don't get the ball man. Unless you're a QB you're dependent on others to get you touches

The sad truth is... NFL running backs are like condoms.
  • You use them to pound holes.
  • They have a short usage life.
  • Once they're used, you throw them away and get a new one.
  • It doesn't matter how much you spend on them, you're gonna get pretty much the same results.
How am I the first to like this, 3 hours later? This is gold people.

Buncha chimps humpin doorknobs in here.

To answer the question... YES Bell is definitely elite. BUT ONLY WHEN HE'S IN FOOTBALL SHAPE.

I would certainly pony up the dough if I was a struggling team with no offensive identity and a plethora of cap space. But the Steelers don't fit that bill. They may not have the identity, but they don't need Bell. Conner's stats prove this. But to say that Pittsburgh wouldn't be upgraded with Bell's return is a fallacy. But again, his fat jetskiing ass needs to be in shape before that "upgrade" becomes apparent.

That said I still think he's a waste of money. He's a me-first poisonous leech, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that he's going to cash-in & check-out. lol

You're retarded (per usual) if you think fantasy stats determine a player's worth.

I hope the 'superbowl contending' Falcons break the bank for him.

Super Bowl contending Falcons?.....you might wanna rethink that shit.....:noidea:

Against Cleveland, with a franchise trying to prove a point. In a game they didn't win.

And against Atlanta, who doesn't play defense.

Tough for anyone to get the ball when they aren't productive in any way.

Not really . You just keep turning around and handing it to him . Plenty of backs ba the league get 15-20 carries for 50 yards every week . That said most of the time a guy will break one or two to make a difference . You're a Lions fan , you should know better than anyone that a guy who goes 1, 2, 1, 3,;2, 4, 3, -3, 4, 2, 5, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 60 still has 17 carries for 100 yards. It's just you gotta give him the ball til you hit the good ones . That's how the ground game works

15-20 for 50 is a lot different than 17 for 36. Which is what he got in their two losses, combined.

Back to the OP, cuz Bell is better than every back but one who currently plays football. And having elite players are a good way to win games. This thing isn't complicated here.

So you think , despite stats to the contrary , that Bell is elite and it's not just the system ? I don't inherently disagree . I'm just not sure there's enough proof to risk giving him big bucks especially for a team who doesn't have a ton of talent around him . You could be right but you could be wrong too

Bell overplayed his hand.

He is a good back that plays on a team with a good offensive line. Is he better than Ezekiel Elliott?

Put Bell on a team with an inferior offensive line and he becomes average.

If I was a GM no way no how do I want this guy in my locker room.

The current contract is what he has to work with. Such played the Lions and made millions by manipulating structure deals. He went to Miami and did the same damn thing. Bell not so much. Hard to feel sorry for a guy that would have made millions for 1 season and forced the Steelers hand.
