This question has been bothering me lately.

According to Football Outsiders..

Minimum 25 passes
2009- 34 out of 49
2010- 19 out of 45
2011- 36 out of 47
2012- 49 out of 49
2013- 48 out of 51

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | TIGHT ENDS 2013

The Golden Tate signing was nice but I can't logically wrap my head around giving Pettidrops 8 million dollars guaranteed for sucking.

Pettigrew's best season- 83/777/5 on.... 126 TARGETS!!126 chances to score a TD at 6'5 265lbs and he scored 5 times.

If someone can please give me a rational answer to why upper management would CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE to suck at a given position is beyond all logic. Please don't give me the "He's a great blocker". If you want a good blocker.... Draft a FB in round 6 and pay the guy league minimum.

because there were no better options. And unless we drafted Ebron in the 1st, there would be no better options in the draft either.

Agreed, the rest would suck even more.

He showed some signs of being capable the second half of the year when Stafford was tanking and Bush was carrying the ball like a loaf of bread while Durham couldn't hold onto anything and Megatron was getting the shit kicked out of him

He may not be the best at anything, but he is a rare tight end that can both block, and catch passes. There are not may players at that position that can do both adequately these days. Id rather have him than any of the other scrubs who were in free agency. Yea, I'd rather have Ebron, but we have other dire needs to fill with a 1st rd pick.

So you're saying Ebron is the only player in the draft better then Pettidrops?

How about Jace Amaro, Troy Niklas, Jenkins?

Even as one of the biggest Lions Homers on earth I cannot understand bringing him back either.

Pettigrew is fine, what isn't is the whole damn secondary........Why focus on one guy at one position when we can focus on 4 POSs in the secondary......Quinn is ok i guess only because he's on the Lions. Slay is a Solid #2 imo. We are still going to get torched this year because we didn't address it and no matter how good Gilbert or Dennard is it will still take a year if we drafted either of them.

Ok, I'm not being crazy or just negative then if Kreton even thought it was a head scratcher as well.

I think the contract we signed him for is right in line with his value. We needed someone at his position who was a two-way TE, and he was the best on the market.

Compare his deal with what Baltimore gave Dennis Pitta and suddenly it looks like a pretty good signing...

My jaw dropped when kreton didnt have a way to somehow twist it into a good move.

It was not a bad deal imo, the guy sucks but they didnt have to spend too much on him.

I don't twist anything. I just tend to see the potential in people.
