Why is Walter Johnson not getting his props as the pitching G.O.A.T?

I recently found out that the crappy statue(should have been better) outside of our stadium is of the best MLB pitcher ever!
I have never heard of Walter Johnson, why is this guy under the radar?

If he's under the radar, it's because he played in the teens and 20's and isn't named Ruth or Gehrig. That said, I don't really think he's under the radar. He's usually listed at the top of the list of the best right-handed pitchers of all time.
