What the hell is this fuckery?
No love lost for LSU this year, but last year was not a good team. 4 losses, including a Notre Dame team that was murdered by Miami. Wisconsin beats that team by 17+. Danny Etling wasn't moving the ball on that defense, so they're stacking the box.

Stop trying to troll because you suck at it. Michigan LOST....A&M LOST

You either win or lose. End of fucking discussion
If it don't matter, A&M would have never moved up

BYU, New Mexico and WKU all SUCK on offense this season. Look it up. The fact that BYU scored on half the possessions when they were trying to, should be telling. Also, it's a fact this is Wisconsin's worst defense since 2010. Some of that is because they aren't as good, but mostly because they've had elite/great/very good defenses over that time frame. Couple that with the personnel losses/injuries, I don't know how saying this, could possibly come as being biased. Holy shit.

Stanford has played well defensively in all 3 games thus far. Also UC-Davis literally scored on the last play of the game. This has probably been one of Stanford's best defenses in the same time frame. Outside of one drive against San Diego State, they've looked good.
So after 3 games, you can tell me Wisconsin is gonna have one of their worst defenses in a decade and Stanford is gonna have one of their best. I think it was around this time last year you were telling me Stanford is elite, so I'll keep that in mind.

I'd disagree with that. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would lead one to believe Iowa was better during that stretch.
Yeah that's just flat out wrong. VT was more consistent and had a better W/L in that timeframe.

This is where each team started and finished since 2008:

Virginia Tech:

2008: Started 15th, Ended 15th
2009: Started 7th, Ended 10th
2010: Started 13th, Ended 15th
2011: Started 13th, Ended 21st
2012: Started 15th, Ended UR
2013: Started UR, Ended UR
2014: Started UR, Ended UR
2015: Started UR, Ended UR
2016: Started UR, Ended 16th
2017: Started 21st, Ended 24th

Iowa:

2008: Started UR, Ended 20th
2009: Started 22nd, Ended 7th
2010: Started 9th, Ended UR
2011: Started UR, Ended UR
2012: Started UR, Ended UR
2013: Started UR, Ended UR
2014: Started UR, Ended UR
2015: Started UR, Ended 9th
2016: Started 17th, Ended UR
2017: Started UR, Ended UR

Va Tech appears to have been overrated in two years(2011, 2012). Iowa appears to have been overrated for two years(2010, 2016). Neither has vastly been underrated or overrated IMO.
VT finished lower than they started in half the time. They ended up higher than they started only once.

Iowa finished lower than they started twice and ended up higher than they started 3 times.

That's why there's a 10 spot difference between the two over this time period in terms of starting/beginning.

I can't remember the last time I went the majority of the year thinking - when VT plays someone good, they are gonna lose and go down in the ranks.

It seems to be a yearly thing with a Big10 West team.
Because we all know the ACC Coastal has been booming with powerhouses over the last decade.

no problem. fwiw, i'm a lot higher on Iowa and Ferentz than most are on this board.
I have been since they hired Haden Fry. Fry's a West Texas guy. Born in Eastland and rasied in Odessa.

Here's an interesting tidbit. One of his students when he taught HS History back in Odessa was Roy Orbison. You youngsters won't recognize that name.

Yes, Wisconsin will have one of their worst defenses in a decade. Not because I think this defense will continue to be this bad, but because they aren't as good as some of their other defenses because they have been elite.

These are Wisconsin's defensive efficiency numbers from 2010 to now:

2017: #4
2016: #6
2015: #13
2014: #31
2013: #13
2012: #23
2011: #48
2010: #35

You seem to not understand that one can say this will be one of their worse defenses in a decade, while also still being even mediocre/slightly above average. If this defense finishes lets say #38, this will be one of their worst defenses, while still being above average nationally.

4 of those were within a couple spots, nothing to ridiculous. Ohio State in that same time frame has finished ranked lower in the polls 6 times from where they started, and I wouldn't call that overrated.

Etling would throw 350 on that weak ass Wisconsin shit.

Wow, someone is in a bad mood. Your cousin out of town?

No, just find it laughable when donghorn fans feel the need to denigrate AtM when they have been a joke for nearly a decade now. They are currently the poster child for under performing.

They may have lost 4 games, but nobody hung 55 on them in a 31 point loss....since we're picking cherries.

That's all you can come up with

So who should get in over A&M? :noidea:
Cal is 3-0 with a direct win over BYU who's 25 in the AP Poll.....
ASU is 2-1 with a direct win against Michigan State who's ranked 23 in the Coaches poll....
Colorado,Washngton State.....

And thats just listing some PAC teams off the top of my head. I'm sure theres more. Its not exactly like Tamu has a quality win. The poll systems are flawed by design

I agree Cal should be ranked.
ASU should be ranked over MSU

Ppl may like it but A&M passed the eye test at least for me in the first 3 weeks.
20-25 is always a crap shoot, it helped A&M more than it hurt them when they played Clemson on National TV.

I think "the eye test" and polling systems may be the worst gauges in sports.Which you can see quite clearly here. I'm not fond of rankings based on opinion rather than actual results. I cant buy Tamu being ranked based on the concept of a "quality loss". The play off committee rankings are just as bad. But I prefer consistency and a concrete gauge. Tbh I think college football is long overdue for a more substantial system. Too much decided by opinion and bias etc. Not enough measured on the actual field.

Just looking quick

Syracuse
Indiana
Minnesotta
Iowa
Cincinatti

all better records than Tamu. Guessing some have stronger wins as well. Tau really hasn't beat anyone
