For those of you who were planning to say Michael Leighton, I've already thrown up in my mouth.

i actually do have a gut feeling that this will be the year jeff carter carries this team in the playoffs.. seriously..he's a HUGE factor in this run.

DB and giroux are going to be offensive MONSTERS in the playoffs, thats a given..they have proven this. if we can get carter producing at a similar level..our offense is going to be a tough thing to stop. honestly, i think the offense needs to play a huge part in this run..as much as we know prongs and the defense needs to play big minutes and carry the team, i think this team is at their very best when the offense is balls to the wall and plays to their amazing potential.

Zherdev. Even though he is a -3 in 7 games with no points. That was also the year that NYR blew a 3-1 lead to the Caps and Torts was suspended for game 6.

Giroux is the easy answer.

It feels like cheating to even pick him because it's so obvious, but what's wrong with the truth?

Giroux is going to be huge without question and the line of Hartnell, Briere and Leino appear to be getting their mojo back once again too, but JvR is the obvious choice here. I say that because it's his time to break out much like Giroux did in our last playoff year. JvR has also been gaining steam as of late with 8 points in his last 10 games and a +4 rating.

Our offense aside from the power play has actually looked fairly strong of late. It is the defense that is giving up way, way too much. Pronger needs to step in and solidify the front of our net (and the point on the power play), because we're leaving opposing players wide open in prime goal scoring areas and it's been flat out embarrassing lately.

However, I'm thinking of our "hero" as the guy who will do something great that we don't exactly expect of him. We already expect Giroux and Briere to dominate, especially Briere against his former team.

yeah i'm defining playoff hero here as someone who surprises most people and really performs well..guys like briere and giroux and pronger are always money in the playoffs, but its merely them being the stars on the team, as everyone expects them to be. i really think JVR is going to have a great playoffs and score goals a plenty
