my family "block" is right near yale, near east rock.

new haven is a tough city, was god awful as a kid. i saw a guy get shot in a park under the highway overpass thru downtown, with my brothers. i was maybe 12? we were quite a distance away, but i heard a pop, saw one of 2 guys drop, and told my brothers to run.

I'll take New Haven 7 days a week over Bridgeport and 5 over Mattapan , esp Blue Hill Ave, Crazy part of Bridgeport is you have a nice Fairfield right next door

hartford has "nice areas". its like a more hardcore version of worcester. i do work with Pratt & Whitney down there.

Very true. My son went to Assumption and before I went to visit him, always thought of Worcester as a dump, but some real nice areas and believe its the 2nd largest city in NE after Boston. Now he is at UConn medical in Farmington, near Hartford.

That kickoff kid from the Saints graduated with him last May, the Greyhounds

Cool , yes I added that to my post above and some other dude who played for Carolina in SB few years back. Weird to see some local Div 2 kids in Pros. If my son wasn't taking pre-med, he would have played football. He played on the RI equivalent of the Xaverian Bros team called Bishop Hendricken in RI. Of copurse smaller state and less talent than Ma, but still div 1 State champs 6 years in a row
