April 9, 1997 Cleveland Indians at Seattle Mariners Box Score and Play by Play | Baseball-Reference.com
When the Padre pitchers racked up 66 pitches in the 7th inning last night, it reminded me of this game.
*It was just the second start of Bartolo Colon's major league career.
*It was early April of 1997, and I was driving to Spokane while listening to the game, trying to pay attention to the road while keeping one eye on the sensational Hale-Bopp comet.
Check out Bartolo's stat line from this game. if I remember correctly, the last batter he faced was John Marzano who drew a 17-pitch walk.
