2008 Tebow had the most 1st place votes yet finished 3rd because of haters who refused to recognize him.

LOL at this stupid award.

If I had a dollar every time a Tebow homer used the word "hater" I could cut the national deficit in half.

I was at that game at The Shoe, and Russell was the best player on the field by a mile. He put up a 160 QB Rating (very close to Young's average on the season) when nobody was getting open. Nick Toon was injured most of the game, and that team had no WR depth. Abby was double teamed pretty much the entire game. And the running game was completely shut down because we had a banged up line.

...and they lost

Reggie had an amazing few games against some scrubs that won him the award.

I concede he was deserving of the trophy......but not at the margin people voted for him over VY. The SC hype machine was just too much, and when given the opportunity, VY showed why he was the better player.

Reggie was not a bad vote.....but he wasn't historically better than VY, who actually made history that season, not Bush.

OK, off my rant now

Also, I think Colt McCoy should have won over Bradford.

He beats him head to head, and meant a whole lot more to his team than Bradford did. He only led the team that was a NC contender in passing and rushing, along with at the time an all time high completion %.

Hell Bradford lost to BOTH the runner ups on the field that year and still won the Heisman. Too many voters make up their minds before actually watching games.

We should go hunt down some Arkansas fans so they can make a case for McFadden now.

McFadden

He demolished our D line in 07. He brought that wood. Crazy how that team had 3 NFL starting RBs on it.

Colt, VY, and AP are easily the 3 that come to mind that should of won them. I still feel that award needs to be decided after bowl season.

VINCE YOUNG

VINCE YOUNG

2005 was amazing.

But, he had arguably the greatest two year run in the history of college football.

I don't think anyone has ever beaten (USC, Ohio State, Michigan, and Oklahoma) all as ranked top 5 teams in a 2 year period. That is the Mount Rushmore of college programs all at peak levels.

His heroics in the championship game could be the best single game big moment performance ever. (although it did not count for the Heisman)

VY is now usually ranked as one of the top 10 college players of all time in those lists that come out now and then.

Reggie Bush was a worthy winner. I cannot deny his accomplishments.

But, VY deserved to finish just a little bit closer than he did for his college accomplishments.
