I went wih Glenn Miller but they're totally different in the industry.
Millers approach seduced individual singers to comply with the sounds. Welk composed fine music but Miller?, Set the direction of music and his songs were dance crazy in the era.
Bands like Artie Shaw and the Dorsey Bros ( whom he left ) were competition to inspire him.
It's sad he died doing what he loved, he was a music icon


By the way, Paul McCartney wrote and composed a classical composition album Ecce Cor Meum in 2006, he has 4 other classical albums to his name, just saying

Glenn Miller easily if I had to choose.

But when it comes to jazz, these are more my speed..
