I was a teen through most of the 80's but at the time I preferred the 60's and 70's music that my older siblings listened to. And it seemes like music underwent a shift in the 80's; before 1979, you would buy an album and nearly every song on it would be good, there would be some kind of theme to the whole album as well, like it was a suite or something. In the 80's, you had some good groups but also there seemed to be a lot of one-hit wonders, and albums might have featured one or two good songs and the rest of it sucked.
It was a different era. You actually had to buy the LP. Have a big collection of classic music albums, in LP and CD, including rock, together with a long-time friend. 000s of records, most are classical music. Would you believe nobody gives a dime for all that music? So basically you upload and share for free.
We thought about selling, just for the art. Nobody gives a shit. And we are talking NYC.

You almost nailed it with first song. The one I’m thinking about is much more rock beat. Some day, I will post an audio of more or less what it sounds like and everybody will say YEAH, I remember. Can’t find the F-ing song anywhere.

What kind of music are you talking about?

Heavy Metal was great during the 80s, with lots of great songs/albums from Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and many others. It was among the best decades ever for Rock and Metal music.

Forgettable.

I was replacing my vinyl from the sixties with mostly the same music on CD during the eighties. To be honest, I think the last "new" music I bought was Eric Clapton Unplugged.
