Why does Buster Olney keep talking about Judge to the Giants? That is not going to happen. The Giants don't spend 350 million on one player; not when they can still fill the seats with scrubs playing.

Once upon a time, SF paid a massive salary to another swole-headed steroid freak who hit a lot of home runs. This is probably just speculation along those same lines?

Have you seen the guy? He can't sign with the Midgets. It wouldn't make sense.

Judge made himself an extra $100M. Not many can afford $300M+

The GIANTS made a big move for Bryce Harper not that long ago ($310 million).

It was only the diffrence in CA vs PA state income tax that really caused them to miss out.

And that was a year after they went hard to scoop up Giancarlo Stanton and his $300 million.

Admittedly, Harper would have been 27 in his first year with the Giants, and Judge will be 31 if he signs there... easier to commit long term.

But, I actually think this is much more likely than Yankees fans would like it to be that Judge just bounces back to Cali.

I hope you'll break your rule and reply to me, but while I agree there's a chance Judge signs with SF, I think it would take a significantly higher number than NY pays to make it happen. Why would he go to a lesser team in a tougher to hit park? Just because they were his childhood team? That seems like Giants fan wishful thinking and I'm one.

I don't know if Giants stadium is that much harder to hit than Yankees stadium. Sure it is harder, but it is not that big of a gap.
Some of that is hyperbole not really backed up by any Park Factor stats.

The Park factor for the last 10 years has been a neutral (100) for batters
Yankee Stadium has barely been better at (101). It is better, but it is not like Fenway Park better.

Now if you want to argue that Petco and Dodgers are a lot worse than say Fenway & Camden Yards, that could be a slight factor.
Judge would probably get close to $400 million to play for the Giants, so it would be for a little more than just "his childhood team".

If the Yankees offer the same $400 million though...better team, etc. I'm trying not to get my hopes up LOL.

I'm not sure that I'd want the Giants to sign Judge. Too much money. And it's baseball, where one guy can only do so much. You can't call a bunch of plays for him like you could if it were football or basketball.

Agreed it's not the slam dunk people think it is. On the other hand, it's time for the Giants to have a big Barry Bonds type name again. Enough is enough.
