Where does music end in this day and age?

Many have seen music progress through the mid 60s to early 80s. All the progressive jazz and rock, the disco and the pop.

Has modern music run out of steam? Heck, all rock & roll songs from that era are great. Everything new music is based on the music mentioned above. After the early 90s, nothing new. Refurbished rhythms from the past. Is all it is.

Long winded, please discuss… has rock & roll died or just morphed into something repetitive.

The argument here is that there is no new song under the Sun.

Post any new song, surely many can detect the basic song they are copying.

For example, Supertramp Give a Little Bit, basic chords very similar to many songs of that time. Simple songs an orchestra of violins and strings can follow.

The history of it all is over and done, No more Robert Johnson, Bod Wills, Hank Willians, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, all that is over now.

I'm still into the history of it all, that is far more interesting than anythng going on today.

Far superior to anything today
