Every day I take a selfie of me and the little one. He is 8 in a few weeks and we have done this since his first day of school. The bus used to stop right out front so he did all kinds of poses in the beginning but now we just take one on the walk to the stop. I send one to grandma in Texas and one to wife. I have missed a few days but less than a dozen over the course of 3 years.

I use my phone camera for everything at work. Need a new sign made, snap pic of barcode. Pics of accidents. Bottles of wine out of stock the floor to see if I can find etc.

My favorite camera on a phone was my blackberry.

Few weekends ago the little one had his first communion. One person had a nice camera and millions just had their phones. Crazy what they can do now.

I plan on getting wife a nice camera but would be afraid she wouldn't use it. But getting that and making own senior pics sounds better than getting a photographer.

I got the latest Cannon Rebel - if you shop around, you can get it for under $1000 - 24.2 megapixels, the lens 16mm to 275 zoom, though was another $600

Every day of the Week - I have had Cannons ever since Minolta got bought out by Sony. Not to say that Nikon is or isn't a good camera though - I merely have never tried it. Mainly because of the ability to transfer my zoom lens 200 to 500 to the new one and my 16 to 275

Right now I can get a nikon d3400 for 500. Comes with 2 lenses and a nice bag. Was thinking of getting it. I can get the canon model for 50 less. Not sure which one but I am sure it is entry level as well. The nikon has 24 megas and the canon has 18.

I will tell you why I have stayed with the Cannon - I don't know Nikon and what it can do, but I am sure it is an excellent camera - With the Cannon - though even though it has been dropped a few times and taken a beating - still a perfect camera - the slightest bump with a Sony and it's ready for the trashcan - I don't know how durable the Nikon is and it might be just as good - but what I would do is compare the light sensors on each - the light sensor is then entire ball of wax

One more - thing - with the Cannon - I got the camera - and then bought one lens separately it's a 16 to 275 zoom which is typically 75 mm better then the average lens package that comes with Nikon or even Cannon-Most of the time they sell you this story about a nice 18 to 55 zoom and 75 to 300 zoom - which means you're missing 55 to 75 - but with one lens, I do not need to carry a second lens which walking down to the Waterfalls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone - One lens does it all - I do have a 200 to 500 mm zoom though that picks up where the other lens drops off with some overlap thanks to the newest lens I have -
