Going on a two day floating/camping trip, next week. Pack all our shit on the raft, float all day, camp, get up and do the rest...camp again.

Got the Dutch Oven seasoned, shit-ton of meat, booze and smoke....good times, folks.

Oh....leaving tomorrow nite, now.

Some serious wood being sported right now.

I'm a fly guy and mostly target trout but a couple of lakes near me have some good sized smallies in them. Winter is coming so it's that time to start tying flies for the Steelhead action in Nor Cal. I sure miss some good pike and musky action though. Not much of it in the west.

I like small stream trout fishing and out of the way high country lakes. The Eagle cap wilderness is my heaven on earth.

I fish for about anything in the pacNW from sturgeon on down to catfish, but I'll go trouting any day over a sturgeon trip if I had to choose. The big gear game fish don't really appeal to me as much as drifting a fly in an out of the way stream.

I'm off to upstate NY this weekend for salmon and steelhead fishing in Pulaski, NY. I've been making the trek every year since 1986.

Haven't fished like I used to down at Salton Sea, but in the past I went for the Orange Mouth Corvinas before they died off due to the high level of salt in the water. They were a lot of fun - up to 15 pounds, put up a terrific fight and really good eating

Just back from upstate NY. Caught the grand slam this year: Steelhead, Chinook, Brown Trout and Coho! We had a run of steelies yesterday like I have never seen before. Dozens and dozens poured upriver with pods of 4 and 5 at a time common. Mixed in were Chinooks. We were literally snapping fish off 'cause there were so many!

Bass fishing in Texas and Florida. I prefer the Drop Shot rig using 6" Roboworms. Personal best is 10lb 6oz.

When I'm able to get up to my land in Colorado, I trout fish the Gold Medal areas of Spinney Res or the Frying Pan River.

I'll eat the trout, but the bass you can keep.
