Twins combined winning percentage over the past 8 years is 44% (570-726). This year they are 44-22.

The offense is ridiculous.
Eddie Rosario. Previous career highs in HR/RBI: 28/78. This year he is in on pace for 47/130.

CJ Cron. Previous career highs in HR/RBI: 30/74. This year he is on pace for 37/115.

Max Kepler. Previous career highs in HR/RBI: 20/69. This year he is on pace for 40/103.

Byron Buxton. Previous career highs in HR/RBI: 16/51. This year he is on pace for 23/95.

Jorge Polanco. Previous career highs in HR/RBI: 13/74. This year he is on pace for 25/88.

Nelson Cruz, at age 39, on pace for 38/99.

The catching tandum of Mitch Garver/Jason Castro. On pace for a combined 45/110.

Miguel Sano. On pace for 37/80 despite missing 48 games.

Jonathon Schoop. Perhaps the only guy in their lineup not having a career year but still on pace for 30/83.

and it's not like Target Field is a hitters paradise either. it's bizarre, but we're also 67 games into the season and most of these players are probably going to see some regression. Twins still have a very solid lineup, I just don't think it's 126 OPS+ good (hell, the 2017 Astros were 123 and the 2003 Red Sox were 118).

Rosario's always had pop. Buxton was a very highly touted prospect and his development has been stinted by injuries. Polanco's probably the biggest surprise so far. He's shown some ability to hit pretty well for a middle infielder before, but he's rocking a 156 OPS+ right now.

Yeah, I expect some regression, but it's not like it's still early in the season. The Twins are 40% of the way through their schedule. These guys are legit. I think the major regression we see will be next year. Kinda like the Red Sox from last year to this year.

I think a lot of it has to do with the new approach of the team, Rocco and Cruz.

It’s crazy they all are putting it together at the same time. But it’s all been there a little bit for all of them. This year they are just all find ways to increase the power.

Kepler is still very streaky as evidenced by his last couple weeks box scores. But he’s always had a nice swing now balls are leaving the yard

Rosario’s power is clearly on pace to shatter his best, but he’s been on a good trajectory and his swings has always had good pop in it. His average/OBP is still his norm. No patience leading to lots of hot and cold spells with a penchant to really ambush a shitty pitch in the clutch.

Polanco has always been a quality hitter with good discipline and plate coverage. It seems it’s just all coming together now and a pretty reasonable age. I doubt he’s consistently a .330 hitter. But he’s the one twins who typically doesn’t expand the zone much, so his improvement isn’t too crazy.

Buxton is just finally free to be Buxton. Monitor was a Dbag to the kid. He put in the work, he put on some weight and he’s being allowed to just play. No pressure. If he has bad ABs, he has bad ABs. He’s been really clutch and is killing lefties. We are letting him hit for more power/line drives. Not focusing on trying to be Dee Gordon just cause he’s fast. He will pop up balls a good amount but it happens. His K rate is also vastly improved and actually better than league average.

Twins have been blessed with such depth that everyone is getting rest and not feeling pressure to perform. So I think it’s keeping guys fresh. I mean shit, Jason Castro is slugging

Yeah

Kepler
Buxton
Sano
Gonzalez
Cruz
Polanco
Berrios
Gibson
Garver
Etc...

Lotta free agents lol.

Basically Schoop and Cron need to be resigned. And that’s all up to use considering the depth we have at those positions with young talent.

Odorizzi is almost certain to resign.

No one else or note will be gone

Odorizzi FA
Gibson FA
Schoop FA
Pineda FA

Cron/Rosario/Sano/Buxton Arbitration eligible

Twins are cheap as fuck. Those guys will be traded to save a few bucks.

Win it all this year, or go another 30+ years

Gibson either.

All of our core is locked up.

The only FA are the guys we added on. And we are not hurting in depth.

I had them winning the Central coming into the season but even when I did that prediction I didn't have them doing this good. Be interesting to see if they can keep it up.

That's the blessing/curse about baseball. You get on a roll, crazy good things can happen that defy stats.

Until we face fucking Rick Porcello.

Team isn’t playing nearly as well since the Tampa series even if we’ve won a good amount.
