Well he's not close to Jordan, and Jordan is the GOAT... so that is actually an accurate statement.

Put simply, LeBron has too many flaws as a player and too many failures from a team perspective vs. Jordan, who had zero (0) flaws/weaknesses as a player, and only one (1) team failure... and that was in 95 against the Magic, when he returned from retirement. But hell, you could argue that wasn't even a failure because Orlando was the top seed that year; however the betting lines did have the Bulls favored slightly as the #5 seed, so what the hell.

Of course that just shows you MJ's value/impact/greatness... the fact that he could spend a year-and-a-half playing an entirely different sport, return to the NBA with just 17 games remaining in the season, lead (what was at the time) a mediocre, essentially .500 Bulls team to a 13-4 record the rest of the way, and then instantly turn them into the favorites (as the #5 seed!) to beat the #1 seed.

Only Bill Russell can match Jordan's impact in that regard, but I digress...

Point is when you're evaluating players for GOAT status "everything" matters... you can't just highlight the good stuff, and brush the black-eyes under the rug; well you could, but in LeBron's case that would be disingenuous because he's got so many relative to Jordan.

In fact, when you take into account the "bad" with the good I'm not even sure a strong argument could be made for LeBron as #2 or #3 all-time, but I suppose one could be made between him and a few other guys. But the GOAT? No chance. He's not close to Jordan when you take everything into consideration.

When I see the numbers of the 2 best players ever to play sorry, someone that beats them both on those numbers is going to come to mind. It's going to be interesting...unless there's something out there that everyone is missing...he's not getting anything close to a max level deal. In fact, it's looking like he could end up playing for the vet min. So, it seems like there may be some non-financial "perks" that teams would offer/he would demand to sweeten the deal.
