There's actually an easy solution, I think. Contact all the tribal leaderships and organize a Native American only referendum - keep the Redskins name and logo or scrap it and go with something unrelated to Native Americans?

My guess is the answer would basically be, "Thanks for asking, and sure, keep it." And the indignation would evaporate.

(Chief Wahoo might not survive the same test, though.)

It is not their team. I personally hate the name, I think it is just Dumb for Synder to NOT have already Changed it. But it is HIS team.

The ONLY People that are outraged over this are the Sports Writers trying to be Political Writers. They flat out lie about people caring about this. They think if they can put enough Negative Press on Washington, they, the mighty Sports Writer, can right a wrong!!

Heck I dont think I personally would have a problem with the name if it was not for the Logo. That Logo though makes it Bad. Again I do not understand why it has not been changed. But I understand EVEN LESS why people think they can force Other People to do what they Want them to Do.

If anyone thinks Washington should Have To change their name, they should...
A) Buy the Washington Redskins
B) Change the Name

Otherwise they need to STFU and let the owner do what he wants.

Washington Redskins doesn't work in our 140 character or less world so it should be changed to the DC Redskins (or maybe DC Rdsknz). Other than that it should be left alone. the only way I would consider changing the name was if I took the vote of every single person in the country with over 50% native blood and that vote said it is indeed offensive to them and needs to be changed. As it stands I've only seen white guys complaining about this.
