I'd use two and trade one for a first next season if I could find a trade partner. That way you don't have 3 contracts to deal with in 4 or 5 years. That could kill you cap wise.

I get the sense that Gruden is not sold on Carr. Having a couple of 1st round picks next year could give him the opportunity to address that in what is perceived to to be a better QB draft class

Don't use any of them to draft a 5'9 QB.

If anything, they trade down with the 24 or 27, grab a couple more picks, try to stock up talent.

Read this interesting article.....

Where draft pick Raiders acquired in Cooper trade will be

1-Use all 3 1st rounder to select players?

2-Trade one of the later 1st rounders for Antonio Brown?

3-Package the 2 later ones to move up in the 1st round and select a better player, maybe in the top 10-15.

This is a serious thread for real football discussion.

1.4...well the best players at the top of this draft are mostly DT/Edge. I shop the pick to JAX, MIA, or WAS...teams that might want to jump in front of NYG for a QB....if nothing comes out of that, I take the best DT/Edge on the board at 1/4.

1.24...draft best RB on the board

1.27 & 3.66...trade for Antonio Brown...PIT will likely move AB...should be a few teams in the mix. From OAK side of this, I would try to pkg one of the later 1st round picks...maybe 1.24 + 3.66. Aside from GB, I don't another team that would have a more appealing offer. Maybe the Jets trading down from 3 and then using that pick to trade for AB.

If I was not trying to trade for AB, I might be looking to pkg some picks to move up to land a WR1. I don't think they will land him at 24 or 27.

Not sold that Gruden has the ability to make the right picks but then that opinion and 6 bucks will get a you a overpriced bitter cup of coffee and a dried out banana nut muffin at Starbucks.

My vaunted opinion is to use the Raiders first pick on the BPA when they go on the board.
Use the Bears or Cowboys pick trade for next years 1and a3rd to somebody that has fallen in love with a sliding player or over evaluated player
Use the other pick to trade down into the 2nd if possible and pick up more talent
Raiders have needs all over the board so finding a player to “plug n play”should not be that hard but in reality it is extremely difficult past the first 20 or so players in the first
And even then lots of those flame out for a myriad of reasons.

The NFL is littered with over evaluated over hyped underperforming failed draft picks as well as submarine under the sonar picks that glisten like diamonds every year. The trick is figuring out which is which. Sounds easy Right?

At best it is a educated guess on how a young man in his early 20’s will deal with the stress of possible fame, life changing money, the insane rules of personal conduct and all the trappings that come along with playing in the NFL for a living.

Trading for Antonio Brown would only make sense if the Raiders were competing for a Super Bowl right now. This is a long re-build and a youth movement. If done well, they could be a powerhouse in a few years AND for a long time.

Gruden has 9 more seasons on his deal...he definitely can take the slow route...if he thinks Carr is his guy for the long term.

There are better fits than OAK for AB, but considering they will probably be able to get him without using their top 1st round pick, he gives brings instant credibility to the passing game which helps the run game. Allow some time to develop your WR2 and future WR1.

The other 2 Raiders firsts are 24 and 27, and could easily be outbid.

True.

The teams rumored for AB trade that I have seen and their 1st round pick spot..

NYJ...3

OAK...4, 24, 27

DEN...10

GB...12

MIA...13

CAR...16

PHI...25

IMO, #3 or 4 are way too high for a 30 y/o RB so unless the Jets move back and then trade, I don't see them or OAK making a deal with a top 5 pick unless they're getting PIT's # 20.

IF DEN, GB, MIA, or CAR make a deal that would knock out anything OAK could do unless they bundled.

Carr is the big question...his dead money hit is reasonable now...and the contract is not ridiculous going forward. If Gruden is not sold on him...maybe a deal with JAX can land him another top 10 pick for a new QB.

I think the entire team should get haircuts like Mark Davis in a show of solidarity.

Build up the defense and the trenches. The QB position is the least of their needs. Fuck Gruden. The guy is a fucking moron. Of course, Davis is an even bigger Moron so they will likely fuck up the move to Vegas anyway. Bringing AB there would be a disaster of epic proportions, imo. They will be a laughing stock for the entire 19 season anyway though so wth.
