With Peguero DFA'd for Buck, I thought we would have petitions started by now. What is up Mariner Nation?

Sorry, it has been a slow M's news week or two.

I really don't care about Peguero. Never been much of a fan of his. Sure he can hit a towering homer every once in awhile, still doesn't make up for his K's.

That's what made this move inevitable. One way or another, Peguero was gonna be gone before the start of Spring Training. It was just a matter of who they were going to DFA him for.

That sums up his whole career in Seattle, he would come out and hit mamouth shots then go on a two week slump of striking out on breaking balls....:L

Yup. Guy would swing at everything. Didn't take pitchers long to figure that out.

I may be alone but I think Peguero was just another example of the Mariners not being able to develop talent. He had raw power but they never developed a single thing about his game, would've figured they could've at least made him a decent OF which they didn't, nor did they do anything with his approach. Saunders had to go outside the organization to get help with his approach.

That is true. If he goes elsewhere and develops into a contributing major leaguer, then we know that is true.

Good point. The biggest thing with Pequero was him not being able to make that step from AAA to the majors. But I do agree with you he probably had the ability to be at least serviceable at the Major league level as a role player with power but the Mariners did a poor job of developing him as they do with many players.

Guess I forgot that. I think he could've been a contributor not a star or anything.

I agree. I just wanted him to be that LH OF bat to hold his own and add a little power with more contact. He had chances, but maybe he does the Balentein thing and makes a name for himself in Japan.

And Peggy traded to the Royals...and no we didn't get Butler for him. We did get some cash that should help pay for a new bucket of batting practice balls though.

Fixed that for you :yahoo:
