Your reaction would be if?

Round 1- Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame

Round 2- Christian Westerman, OG, Arizona State

This one is a tough one. I couldn't help but be excited though.

If we still got Blair in the 3rd I would be happy.. We need 3-4 DT help ...but yes this draft would help make this team better ..CEH players get hurt and Rookies sit a year is fine ty plays G this year next year LT .

I would be pretty underwhelmed. With Jaylon's latest report that his knee hasn't progressed I wouldn't touch him till round 3... that might even be early.

My plan is to put Smith in one of these with a RD 1 secnario, and one with him in rd 2 (later). He is tempting and only teams know the truth of how his knee is going to hold up long term. His draft status is anyone's guess right now, I don't think fans really can say they have a clue. We were told the same thing about McGahee and he went round 1. All depends on the doctors view. You may have someone peg him late round 1, and another not peg him until late rd 5 because of his knee. Right now he bounces all over. I am prepared to see him go anywhere really at this point.

Not knowing the medical X, and only going off what is rumored, I wouldn't take Jaylon until round 2. This combo would be a future plan, not this year's. Si you could make the argument that the FO stuck by their board and took BPA.
Frankly seems a little early for both....

If we feel good enough to take Jaylon Smith round 1 (which I doubt we will) I would be confident the team has done their medical checks and feels good about his health long term and that other teams feel the same way (which is why we would take him higher then we all expect), but my guess is he won't sniff round 1 with as bad of an injury that he has suffered.

You can't help but be excited about Smith as a player... Just don't know the severity of his injury as no team is going to release their findings right now.

Again it is a medical opinion, but if Smith is going to get back to what he was - the Broncos will do well to bag him and put him on IR if they have to (and they probably will) - but they would have the 5 year contract - too. If Smith is worth a 2nd round pick - as is - he is even more worthwhile at the end of one with a bonus year of payroll control.

News I just got from Smith by a reliable source isn't good. Sounds like nerve damange is a major concern right now. I am starting to hear more of what the good doc is saying in this thread. He may not be touched before round 5.

We will see what is smoke and what isn't on draft day, but this scenario doesn't look possible if true. I figured he was more of a round 2 pick at this stage anyway, but not after the details I got today.

Pretty much what I've been hearing since combine is he would need to sit all off 2016 anyway and that was largely due to the nerve issue. His recent tests just confirmed that is all. Every team is aware of his situation and the main thing is what player will you get in 2017 and beyond. I think one of those teams with 10 plus picks will take a shot at him in 2nd or 3rd rd. His " potential" upside is still very intriguing to a lot of people. IMO, of course. :)

Yeah just comes down to doctors opinions and taking a chance and when you want to do that.

Some team like New England, Baltimore or San Fran with a million picks after round 3 will take him.
