There is a very legitimate chance neither happens.

But with his contract I’m gonna go with Davis. He will get more chances to play and run into a few knocks.

Odorizzi might never pitch 7 innings again.

The fact they cant keep Machado because they signed Davis instead is some Kahn/Millen level management.

Machado would have been gone anyways.

But the Davis signing is really gonna hurt their rebuild.

I'm not a big buyer of WAR, but Chris Davis has to be having one of the worst offensive seasons of all time, right? We're not even to the halfway point of the season and his WAR is -2.2.

He's a 1B with an OPS barely above .450. His OPS+ is 28. Considering he's somehow gotten 229 PA, yeah he's having one of the worst years ever.

The Davis 3 hit game, still that contract really set the Orioles back a lot didn't it?

Josh Tomlin walks more guys in a season than he gives up home runs.

I did not understand that contract. Chatwood was the worst Rockies pitcher by a large margin. Now they need some one to save them from Jon Gray. I keep reading that he is the ace, but all those strikeouts dont matter when you give up 6 runs in 5 innings.

You know that Coors Field is a joke, right

And Gray had a 3.67 ERA despite pitching in that joke of a ballpark last year.

You mean the Chatwood that had a 116 ERA+ from 2016-17 prior to hitting free agency?

I am aware that Coors field is a joke, but instead of using it as an excuse for a single pitcher their are 5 starting pitchers so you can get a good comparison.

Gray has an ERA+ of 79, he has pitched the most games and has the fewest quality starts of all Rockies pitchers
