Informed speculation but this guy is saying that this type of injury likely means surgery and going on IR to start the season. Hope you all bet Titans to win this division!

This dude isn't going to get enough snaps for us to get a first rounder, I can tell. Glass Qb.
Either way the Eagles won that trade.

I mean, they got him off the books and they got some picks. It was a tough decision but you needed to rip that Band-Aid off for sure. Hurts may or may not be the guy, but you need to find out this season.

One of those links says it's not Lisfranc, which would have indeed been it for the season.

I would have accepted less for Wentz. I'd go with Hurts for the year rather than trade for Watson or another expensive vet. Given the cap cuts it would make sense to have a down year and rebuild through the Draft with more future cap space. I'm not sure that strategy would fit well with the owner, the city, or team fans in general. I think the Eagles will be in for Watson.

This is just another fake injury, Wentz is skilled at those, to keep his snap count down keeping that 1st rounder from going to Philthy.

This was a stupid trade from Indy’s perspective from the get-go. And now it appears one of the worst case scenarios is playing out already.

Paying $20 million this year for him to sit on the sidelines. Paying him $27 million for the slim chance to see if he isn’t a shitty QB that he looked like last year. And for that slim chance they paid $47m in cap space and gave up a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick.

Ballard has done a really impressive job of building the roster up to this point. And he is damn lucky that he did. Because horrific trades like this usually ends front office careers.

Let's call it what it is Indy. Fans will get used to this.

Now, Silver is reporting the injury involves a bone and a ligament, which would undoubtedly involve surgery. The severity and the exact nature of the injury to Wentz's foot is unknown at this time.

Silver, along with NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, are both ruling out a Lisfranc injury at this time, though the bone and ligament typically connects to Lisfranc in the foot region.

Lisfranc injury can be difficult to recover from.
Surgery involves fusing the foot bones together. (that ain't good)
Should still be able to play shuffleboard - if he doesn't stand too long.

Colts head coach Frank Reich said Carson Wentz will undergo foot surgery and be out 5-12 weeks.

The Athletic's Stephen Holder reported Wentz had dealt with a foot injury he suffered as early as high school. "Over time," Holder said, "the broken bone came loose and caused pain." ESPN's Adam Schefter said the team and Wentz agonized over whether he should have surgery, which will sideline the quarterback for the first part of the regular season. A 12-week recovery period would have Wentz making his Colts debut in mid-October. It's a bleak scenario for the Colts, and represents a blow to every Colts players' fantasy value. Jacob Eason, the team's presumed Week 1 starter, has been checking down to running backs in his work with the first-team offense
