Fuckin A that’s bad. Still haven’t seen the hit he took. Just hope the guy can walk again with some normalcy. This sounds like a Mackenzie Milton type of tragedy.

I want to say it was Frank Gore, had one of the most gruesome Knee injuries ever & he is a RB & has now been in the league 100 years.
I am pretty sure Burrow will recover & have a highly successful career. :thumb:

Doctors are much better able to surgically repair knees now compared to years ago, so I suspect he will play again. But you have to wonder if he loses something. Terrible news. Seems like a good kid.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Joe Burrow tore his ACL and MCL in Cincinnati's Week 11 loss to Washington.

It's similar to Carson Wentz's injury in December a few years ago, which resulted in Wentz missing Philadelphia's first two regular season games the following year. With multiple ligaments to rehab over the offseason, Burrow will undergo reconstructive surgery and should be considered questionable for Week 1 of 2021. It's a brutal loss for a Bengals offense that was averaging the second-most pass attempts per game through Week 11.

That is a heartbreaking turn of events. I do believe the kid will bounce back though. I think he has the mental toughness. He is a hard worker and a born leader. It's gonna set back Cincy's rebuild a bit though but hopefully their management takes the time now to build the foundation around this kid so when he comes back, he isn't forced to continue to take this pounding and have to do it all.

Terry Allen managed to have a decent career with 2 blown out knees 20+ years ago....so, it can be done. I wish the young man a speedy recovery.

Tom Brady tore an ACL. He missed the rest of the season but returned the next year.

Doctors are first rate for the NFL. ACLs aren't what they used to be. He could be back by the middle of next season.

I was going to say it was Mcgahee, but apparently, both had horrific injuries in college. Gore in Spring ball, McGahee in the Fiesta Bowl. Both got drafted early and had long careers.

What am I missing? He tore his ACL and did some other damage. That sucks. But why the talk about his career ending and even a comment about whether he will walk normal again

This kid appears to be tough as nails as well. Both physically and more importantly, mentally. Cincy's brass better learn their lesson from this though and think about the long term. Get some damn protection and fix some of their shit.

He will be back but he will never beat first round pick worth after the injury

Isn't he a pocket passer?
Not like he has to make a living running around. he is an intelligent & can read defenses so he can make quick decisions without scrambling.
I seriously think he will/can be just as good. His decision making & throwing is his main skill set. He is not relying on his wheels to be a good QB.

He does run a little and is athletic but that has been mostly out of necessity, I think. Maybe he isn't quite as elusive but if he gets good treatment and rehabs completely and doesn't try to come back too soon, he will be fine, I think. Again though, Cincy has to be smart and get him some protection.
