Yes, it is the versatility he can play everywhere, but center and knows the offensive scheme. He probably won't start at RT, but he will likely prove valuable. While Turner's versatility is nice to have on the team I am not sure this is the best news for us.... Would have really liked to sign Shell over Turner... Doubt we sign Shell, Turner and Compton. Turner is a good depth OL however. Still looking to me like we are going to have to hope for a RT value in the draft. Compton/Turner is a starting stop gap. Turner is a swing depth guy so we don't have our long term RT yet.
Here is the inside scoop on why we signed 2 right tackles with starting experience. They like what they've seen of Calvin Anderson at LT, but not at RT so much.
Here is the big scoop. Bolles is being talked in a trade with Minnesota for there 1st round pick.

You can't really do that. You only have so many slots on the game day roster. You need 5 starters (OT/OG/C\OG\OT) and two back ups (LT/RT and C/OG). That way you can lose two O-Line in a game, no matter who they are, and still function. Because you'll have at least one starter that can also play multiple spots like an OG/OT. You can go with 8 instead of 7 if you want. That works too. But it's eating into the game day roster to do that. I don't know if a lot of teams even keep 10 O-Line one their active rosters. That being said the NFL has changed roster rules over the last few year because of the Covid bullshit. Maybe it's better now.It is an interesting dichotomy about the Bronco's O linemen - half are run game guys and half pass protect specialists. Dare I suggest something - young and innovative? Train one set of Linemen to run the ball and the other set to pass protect. Sometimes when the pass protects guys are in - run the ball - sometimes when the run guys are in pass the ball. The defense will be back on their heels trying to figure out how to react depending on who is across from them on any given play. It would take a high level of execution for it to work.
I don't know if the Broncos would do that, but it is clear they are up to something deliberately with the versatility and obvious leanings one way or the other on Oline skills on the current roster.

Collins was too big and fat for this stretch offense. I mean he would have been better than what we have now but not $10 million better. I feel very good about RT Right Now. Denver has three guys battling it out a nd a draft pick is on the way.We should’ve signed La,el Collins. That was a mistake not going for him. He has versatility all across the line
Billy Turner failed his physical with the Packers. The Broncos may be planning to have him on an injured list - start the season with Anderson and Cody Conway. Turner can play either of the Guard spots and either of the Tackle spot - so bringing him off the injury list at a reasonable date - makes sense. When he's ready to play he can plug into a number of spots.
The Oline will be plenty good enough.
That don't mean anything. If you have off-season surgery and they test you in February the can fail you even if the time table for recovery is another month.Billy Turner failed his physical with the Packers.
