Game Thread: Week 9: Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons

This could be similar to the Chargers game. Atlanta has started fast, but blown leads late in games. They are coming off a win against the Carolina Panthers and have extra time given they played on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to keep their WRs on the field, and DC already mentioned that Calvin Ridley may miss this game. We will see if the new found offensive success from the last quarter and half, go back to the ineptitude that has plagued the offense, or some where between the 2.

Looking forward to an opportunity to get back to .500.

The Broncos will have to win a fireworks show. Lock needs to dust of his TD dance.

Both teams missed practice time this week due to COVID-19.

Atlanta's defense will be without Tak MicKinley and Donte Fowler. Calvin Ridley I don't think has practice all week, but is listed as questionable. Normally I would think that Questionable with no practice would not be promising, I have not seen any predictions on if he will play or not.

For Denver, Diontae Spencer and A.J. Bouye will not play. Shelby Harris is still on the COVID list and will not play. Nick Vannett, Bryce Callahan, Tim Patrick, and Philip Lindsay are list as questionable, but expected to play. Trey Marshall is also questionable with an illness.

To me the big one is Ridley. If he plays it puts a lot more stress on the Denver defense, especially missing the entire expected starting Dline, and short Bouye. If Ridley is not able to go then Denver can concentrate on Jones. It will also be key to limit the rushing yards.

This is a game Denver should be able to win if they can do the follow 3 things:

• Don't turn the ball over
• Run the ball effectively
• Don't give up big plays

Excited for this game, but unfortunately with the Lions at Vikings game is on CBS, they will be televised in my area. Another game to watch the lines on my phone/computer.

Whenever we play the Falcons, I'm reminded of the time Spencer Larsen started on offense and defense against them. Go Broncos!

I hope the Broncos can get some momentum going by winning this one. Should they pull off the dub they will very quietly have put together a 4-1 stretch after the ugly 0-3 start. I am unable to watch today because I am taking someone kayaking. Just trying to be a friend to someone in need. I hope you guys enjoy the game!

The Broncos wear their Blue alternate jerseys today. The last time I remember them wearing their blue alternate jerseys on the road was at Dallas when Peyton Manning's number was called to run and it ended up being a TD. If I remember correctly that was a shootout, as some people expect today. I don't care if this is a low scoring game or a shootout, but I do want to see Denver get back to .500 on the season.

I think the Raiders will lose to the Chargers today - so a Bronco win will give them a shot toward the wildcard and more momentum. Go Broncos!
