Maybe a touch early to start this thread, but what the hell, I'm bored. The Saints are arriving in Chitown with a 1-5 record. IIRC, after the first 4 weeks and an 0-4 start, the Saints were pretty much regarded as the worst team in the NFL. But in the last couple of weeks, they've appeared to gain some mojo. It began with a solid win over the Giants, followed by a tough loss against the Pats.

It starts with an improving Spencer Rattler, whose key stats to date are 68.5% comp, 6 TD/1INT, and a 91.9 rating. The offense as a whole, while still in the bottom third in yardage and points, seems to be getting on track. And their defense is decent, giving up almost 42 YPG fewer than our boyz. They're even a +4 in turnovers, altho we top them with a league-high tie of +8.

Bottom line, they're no longer playing like the league's stinkiest team, so the worst thing we can do is to auto-chalk this off as a win. We're stronger in the passing game and even with them in the run. They have us in run D and are even with us in the passing D. Obviously, being the homer that I am, I see us winning this game, but nothing akin to a blowout, and it could very well be a dogfight.

Weather pending...I like the Bears at home here. Our o-line just played the best game I've seen up front in a looooong time. I think the running game keeps going and Caleb plays another solid game. Johnson's playcalling has been pretty solid, save for a few lame ducks here and there. (The 3rd and 1 on the first drive last nite was pretty lame) but overall a huge improvement. These are games we lose last year, without question.

The Bears aren't great up front on D, but that back 7 is as good as there is right now.

I think this a game the Bears HAVE to win. Tough road games after, and then it just gets tougher. This is a MUST WIN, imo

Definite trap game. We are the better team and will hopefully take care of business. Would like to see a comfortable win here, but don't want to get too picky.

As of now,it looks to be a rainy Sunday, either team could win....kinda like the late fumble by JD to seal their fate.

Please Ben don't overlook them Saints.

We all know that this is the game the Bears lose in tragic fashion..

Saints 26
Bears 23
in OT

Bears jump out to a first half 17-3 lead and from there it's a frustrating, gut wrenching Sunday.

If we're for real? This is a game that we clean up in. However, I'm still playing things on the side of caution. The Bears I know? They lose this game. Let's see if BJ's Bears are different.

We’ve had several coaching challenges in a row. Turning the team around after an 0-2 start. Beating the team wrecked your season last year. Now it’s getting the team up after a string of victories to win a game they should.

Personally, I don’t think this team has enough respect in the league for trap games. They need a year to prove themselves before that mentality can creep in. I don’t think it’ll be too hard for BJ to get this team ready.

It's reported that Swift is nursing a groin injury and was limited today in practice. Sounds like he'll be ok for Sunday, assuming of course he doesn't aggravate it any further. We'll need a good performance from him to insure we whup the Saints.

Been reviewing his history since he joined the Bears last year. The one thing that immediately stands out is inconsistency. Out of 22 total games to date, only once has Swift has put together back-back good efforts. In games 6 & 7 from last season, he had a combined 35 carries for 220 yards. He's cracked the 100 yd rushing mark just twice, and interestingly enough both were against the Commanders. Go figure. And only 5 games has he averaged more than 5 YPC. I know some of this has been due to an inferior OL. With our new line finally beginning to gel, maybe we'll see stronger rushing numbers from him in the coming weeks.

As if we needed another reason to get this dub:

I had no idea the Saints have the longest winning streak against us.
That December Thursday night game in 2008 was a good one. We both needed that game to stay alive for postseason. Robbie with game winners in both that game and in the Monday Night game vs GB in the week that followed.

Of course, in Bears fashion? We'd go up 10-0 against Houston final game of the season and completely lay down from that point on in the game. Giving away our playoff aspirations.

Wild to think... A) How long ago that was. B) I was posting with a couple of people still here during that game/season. lol

Wow, I caught that incredible Steelers-Bengals game. Turned into a shootout. Incredible that Joe Flacco, only with the Bengals 10 days, turned in such an incredible performance, leading his team to a back-n-forth, very dramatic win. I'll say this much, we'll have our work cut out for us with either of these teams.

Eh… That’s just Tomlin doing Tomlin things. Piss poor coached game. He’s 0 for his last 9 on Thursdays, I believe.

Not saying that Flacco isn’t giving Cincy some life, but I’m not ready to say that they’re much better than we thought 24 hours ago. PITT’s D is really bad

Well, Cincy's D was no beacon of light either. But man, Flacco played real well.

Definitely. Maybe the Steelers D isn't as good as ours, maybe it is or maybe it's even better. I have no idea and it doesn't matter, all I know is what I watched last night and what I watched was a Cincy offense operating on all cylinders, and the key reason for that was Flacco. The man played like he's been their QB for 10 years instead of just 10 days.

Yeah, you're right. He'll probably pull of what he did in Cleveland a couple of years back. Come back in the 4th quarter and shatter my soul.

That was top 3 "WTF!?" loss of the Eberflus era and ended any realistic playoff hopes (technically we were alive into final day of the season).

I'm starting to think Dennis Allen has something against Austin Booker... He's been practicing in full all week, but we've left him on IR.

Story has it,Booker is not where he is supose to be...not expected to be where he is suppose to be after full practices....??....dumb

If he does not play vs the Ravens,he will be put on ir rest of the year per NFL rules.....
