A win here will drop the Broncos about 5 slots in the draft order. Still I have no use for the Homeless this week. I hope the Broncos kick their butts.

10 picks in the draft and 5 of them ought to be on the oline.

We win this game and I believe we finish 2nd in the AFC West. A great opportunity to ruin the Raiders playoff hopes.

Here is how each team ranks going into the final week of the season:
Oakland Raiders:
Offense:
Total: Ranks 14th with 356.1 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 13th with 119.7 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 13th with 236.4 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 24th with 20.5 points per game.

Defense:
Total: Ranks 21st with 362.6 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks tied for 8th with 100.0 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 25th with 262.6 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 27th with 26.9 points per game.

Turnover Differential: Ranks tied for 17th with at -1.

Denver Broncos:
Offense:
Total: Ranks 28th with 302.6 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 18th with 106.1 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 29th 196.5 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 27th with 17.7 points per game.

Defense:
Total: Ranks 10th with 327.7 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 18th with 112.4 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 6th with 215.3 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 10th with 20.1 points per game.

Turnover Differential: Ranks tied for 15th at +1.

The Raiders are reeling a bit looking 4 of their last 5, but did beat the Chargers last week. The Broncos on the other hand have won 3 of 5 and seem to be gaining momentum going into the off season. The Raiders have a potential playoff spot on the line, but Denver is looking to continue the momentum going into the off-season.

That the Broncos have effectively a top 10 defense, especially scoring defense, is a testament to how amazing this unit really is. They’ve been dragging that offense all season. Adjusting to the scheme and having so many injuries late in the season hasn’t helped. Yet here they are still a top 10 unit.

I think it would be a worthwhile study to see if there’s a correlation between injuries to key defensive players and the ineffectiveness of an offense. It makes a lot of sense on the surface: the more ineffective an offense the more likely that team is losing the TOP battle and their defense playing more snaps. That adds up over a season.

I wonder if the Broncos field a more effective offense next year and can effectively bring back this defense, will the defense suffer less attrition through the season? Will the defense be less prone to injury if they’re not playing through residual fatigue from dragging an offense along all year?

this possibility is just one more reason to look forward to what’s ahead with Drew Lock. If he can restore offensive credibility to this franchise it likely helps the defense just as much as the offense.

Gruden said his team got some good rookies who loves football but also said unfortunately Denver found one too in Drew Lock.

So if we win this today we will move from 3rd to 2nd in the AFC West. This will change our opponents from at Cleveland and vs Indianapolis to at Pittsburgh and vs Tennessee. That is if the Indianapolis loses to Jacksonville or Tennessee wins vs Texans. If the Colts and Texans win the Colts would finish 2nd and they would come to Denver.

I think the difference of opponents is worth the momentum and positive progress will pay dividends going forward. Even if it means that one of my good friends and I do not get to watch our teams play (Colts and Broncos).

Browns and Colts could be pretty good teams next year too.. I don't see a huge loss on the schedule. As long a we play the Steelers later in the year after Big Ben gets hurt again.

So we would play the Titans in Denver again? (This was the game I went to this year when we shut them out)
