Game Thread: Week 15 - Browns at the Bears

It was a very offbeat performance by us. Ultimately, I'll take it. We did our job today. We're also lucky that we played a Cleveland team that appeared to have ZERO interest in being there today.

The Good:
Offense played well, but the defense played great. 3 INT, 5 sacks, 8 TFL.
A decent chunk of the Browns O came in clock-killing garbage time.
At one point in the 3rd Q, it was noted that the Bears had more TDs than the Browns had 1st downs.
Take away Sanders 2 scrambles for 24 yard, the D otherwise held the Browns rushing to 14/26.
Swift had a nice game, falling just 2 yards shy of 100 yards rushing.
Caleb hit the key throws when it mattered and on a super frigid day, it was impressive that he ended up 17/28/243.

The Bad:
Two fairly dumb play calls by BJ. One was when it was 3rd-n-1 and he went with the pass, which of course was incomplete.
The second was going for it on 4th-n-3 at our own 46 yard line, which ended in a sack. This eventually resulted in the Browns only score.
Even tho Cairo had a pretty solid day with his kickoffs, missing a gimme FG might have iced the possibility of going with a new kicker next year.

The Ugly:
The first game this year that I was able to watch, but without the sound. The bar put the goofy Eagles blowout of the Raiders on sound instead.

Because we had no sound, at the moment I wasn't sure if that was an INT or the DB knocked it down. It wasn't until I saw the Bears starting to party back there that I realized it was a TD. This should easily make the highlights tonite.

Had a few clumsy moments on offense, altho in fairness the Browns are noted for their strong D. And Myles Garrett showed us why he's the league's top pass rusher and eventual new sacks record setter. Still, the O played well enough that this game was in the bag almost from the outset.

The D tho was lights out. Granted, the Browns aren't exactly known as an offensive powerhouse, but the D took care of business today.

Good win. No doubts left on the field. Now...Saturday night is either a statement win or a debilitating loss. Sounds good to me.

Yeah, that was a pretty crappy call. I'll excuse the drops simply because the weather was so brutal.

Packers have lost Watson and now Parsons in this Broncos game. Parsons with a non contact injury to his knee that looked bad.

One of the better parts about FINALLY blowing somebody out is that we don't have to hear turds crapping "point differential" stats out of their mouths now.
