A lot of "The Bears are coming...Look out" reaction to this game.

I'm still skeptical that we're legit contenders until, at minimum, I see some of our youth develop into true superstar-level players. There's potential there, but there's no guarantees with that stuff.

Everyone's focusing on that final play interception (rightfully so).

I find it telling that with the game on the line we decided to roll to Caleb's off-side on the left.

Taking the "Just pound the rock" consideration out of it and accepting that we decided to throw on that 4th and 1. That play was 25% called out left because of the hash location of the football...and probably 75% because f*cking Micah Parsons is over there on the right. Big player that had a big indirect impact on the play...thus a big win for the Packers. Kinda how I see it.

(There's also a discussion about how Caleb abandons the pocket too early here, more of a reason why I think Johnson might have taken the "go right" option away from him intentionally to both avoid Parsons and the short side of the field...but I'm on a slightly different rant with this post)

Talent matters. We need some high-end talent that is proven, not theoretical. People that change the game both by making big plays and by just taking the field. Players that have to be game-planned around. There's just too many JAGs on this team currently.

Last time the Bears were good is because we were boosted by high-level mainstays in Urlacher/Briggs/Tillman/Kreutz. We only have one player on the roster currently anywhere near those 4 players' level of impact. Joe Thuney. And he's in his 30s. The closest other argument is Darnell Wright, and he's been up and down quite a bit until just recently. And there's no Bears fan on the planet that wouldn't trade him for a recreation of any of those 4 in their prime...so that's not really an argument anyway.

Our coaching is solid. But as we saw yesterday, it is limited by our roster and our inexperience. Frankly, even with good coaching, it will be negated by other good coaches on the regular. Sometimes the bad guys have your number. So we need to really up our personnel.

WE NEED HIGH-END TALENT.

Can’t say enough that LaFleur simply outcoached Dennis Allen.

BJs offense got its ass handed to it in the first half but he adjusted and the offense was much better in the 2nd half.

Love struggles against the blitz so DA blitzes and LaFleur made all the right calls to beat the blitz.

Helps that there’s no Gordon or Tyrique. But just a masterclass in scheme by MLF.

Hate to keep dwelling on that last play but it's the same play they ran against the Eagles to score a TD to Kmet. You literally run the same play that you know the Packers spent all week looking at. And yeah...it could have worked with a better thrown ball or Kmet beelining to the barrier....but why run that there?

Ben Johnson's offense had 2 passing yards in the first four drives of the most important game of his head coaching career...in a game where he had extra days to prepare.

Dude got pants'ed too as far as I'm concerned.

We are a year away....we held in there till the last play of the game..

Another play other than the last one that bittered me,is we had Josh Jacobs for a 2 yard loss on 3rd and 2 from our 28 that fought out of 3 tacklers and ran for 21 yards to get a 2 yard rushing td.......an easy 2 yard loss.
We should have limited them to a fg there....
Better def lineman,we got them.....

And I think we beat them at home.....

I've said it a zillion times, this was to be our foundation year, and it remains as such. After coming off multiple losing seasons including our 5-12 record last year, it's not easy to then hire a new HC and his coaching staff with the expectations of taking us to the promised land in one season.

And yet here we are at 9-4. Our boyz gave everything they had against the Packers, who frankly are a better team, and while they lost, it was a nailbiter. Plus we're still in the thick of a playoff hunt, a spot most fans and just about all the pundits thought would be highly unlikely. Obviously I wanted us to win yesterday, but overall, I'm quite satisfied where we are at the present.

I'm leaning more Smokin' Jay 2 than Iceman at the moment....so hard to be so level-headed in this corner.

Understandable that yesterday was a big letdown. Honestly, if the Pack wlaked all over our boyz yesterday, I'd probably have an even worse attitude. Not happy one bit that we lost, but I feel like we're catching up. It was a bummer we lost, but not depressing at all.

Thats the play I was talking about in post 183.......hair pulling.
Jaylon's worst game as a pro. Literally looked like he was just going through the motions and trying not to get hurt. Disappointing effort from him yesterday.

No valiant effort what-so-ever.....by all 3.
It was like they were just going thru the motions there.

I remember Brady or Burkhardt saying they all thought the other teammate had him......

Just make the damn tackle next time please.....

I thought it might have been the secondary's worst game overall this season.

I am not sure GB is better. We were better in the 2H. We will be better in two weeks.

I think the moment seemed a bit big for these guys in the first half. Then, once we started playing OUR game, we had already dug ourselves a hole (which we escaped from, briefly).

I think a huge point in this game was actually when GB took a slow moving, 7-3 game going into half and turned it into a 14-3 game.

Gordon being out sucked and I'm over that guy. Love was 7-7 for 150 and 3 TD's throwing to his slot. Like, come on...

I usually criticize Caleb, but I'll defend him here. We were in that game because of Caleb. He did have ice in his veins down the stretch. If we had pulled it out, that would have been Caleb's finest hour. He isn't to blame. At least, not himself alone.

Both teams are probably even, its just GB has had our number for quite sometime now.......I think we are 16-52 since 92.

And Caleb is not all to blame, but he needs to play all 4 qtrs, not just a half...and I would like to see what the difference in the two halves were.
19 for 36 for 180+ yards is not good by any means......
When it counted the most,he came up short.....I can not stick up for him on that pass, just can not do it.....It was just nother not even close pass to me.
And yes there was more to blame,as in the wrong play was called on that last play, the suppose to be a gang led tackle on Jacobs behind the los which meant 4th n 5 or 4.

And the iceman comment, was meant to back up Jiddys comment.....and a little humorous.

Almost 2 full seasons in,and his accuracy is not there.....Im still holding out it will get better by seasons end,but Im not holding my breath.....

On the one hand, I want to cut a little slack for Caleb, who's already on his second coach, his second gameplan, and spending much of the season working on his footwork, plus playing so much under center, which he almost never had to do in college.

But then again, is accuracy teachable? Or better stated, does it take two, maybe three seasons to get it down?

He had 17 yards or some shit in the first half. And that was a whole team effort at sucking. The Offense adjusted at half. The Defense did not. Mind you GB's D is as good as there is too.

Every QB has accuracy issues, at times. If he were truly as inaccurate as you claim, he wouldn't have the longest streak in the NFL for not throwing a pick. I mean Love had 50 more yards and one more TD. That's one drive.

I think Williams is calculating and smart. Turns it on and takes chances when he needs to. He missed a tough throw. Same one that won it last week. BFD.

Year 1 with Johnson and they are 9-4.

I think you are all nuts.

What bugs me about @richig07 passing me the torch is he handed it to me flame side first. So uncool of him!

Hey, the man has a 57.8% completion rate. Now I've stated previously that obviously not all of it can be put on his shoulders. But he's missed a lot of open receivers over the course of this season, and that's on him. There probably isn't a neutral analyst out there who doesn't believe he needs to improve on this.
I think you are all nuts.
Well let me tell you bucko, my 3 psychiatrists strongly disagree with you!!!!
