That was a really ugly performance and I’m getting a bit tired of how hard they make things on themselves. They moved the ball most of the game and just stalled out,

The early 4th down...the offensive series after the first TD...


Now maybe there's the thought that this was a team we should've easily beat, and since that is the case, maybe we don't wanna put EVERYTHING on tape, for the next few opponents? But, I don't think we are there. I don't think we're anywhere close to good enough to be worrying about next week. This should've been a better win.

With that said, I will say, the Giants are a trip. Their D front 4 is legit. Why they haven't stopped shit all year, and I'm not sure why really, but they are one of the highest paid front 4's in the game, and there are some legit studs there. They showed up today against the run, for the most part, and they pressured the shit out of Caleb. His escapability was superhuman. Thibodeaux had him dead for rights, at least 5 times today.





On a side note, I so hated this team today, but I gotta be honest...as soon as Dart fumbled, I was like hype-man 101. I felt it.

Because it will likely take a minimum of 10 wins to make the postseason in this tough NFC. Interestingly enough, if the playoffs were today, we'd be in as the 7th seed. But look at that list of opponents. It will take somewhat of a Herculean effort to split the rest of this schedule.

Caleb won the game as much with his feet today as he did his arm. Offensive game ball to him.

CJGJ had an incredible game considering he's still new to the D. He had 2 sacks and I believe he caused the Dart fumble. Defensive game ball to him.

I guess I don’t understand the lack of commitment to the run in a game where… A) You’re the #2 rush offense in football. B) They’re the 31st rush defense. C) It’s snowstorm with wind gusts up to 30 mph and wind chill at 16 degrees. I thought we threw the ball waaaayyyy too much the first half (obviously later we had to). We started running really well on the monongai TD drive to go up 7-0. Then, it seemed we stopped.

Aside from that, some of the play calls were just head scratchers. Idk.

When we got the fumble? I said “there’s our break”. But to me? That was wiped out when we settled for a FG and then Sewell missed that tackle on the check down allowing a big play.

I actually cashed out my bar tab with them on the 5 yard line before they kicked the FG. I was done. Was walking out after the failed 4th down conversion after that. It was 20-10 with 8 min left AND they had the ball.

Nah bro… I’m sorry. I completely thought we were toast. We showed no signs of life all game.

Even the next TD drive started with that missed wide open throw to Odunze. My moment? When Caleb scrambled to the one? We scored next play? 4 min left and 3 timeouts. I was back.

I was sitting next to a giants fan talking all game. He started jokingly going at me “This guy! Says he’s leaving because his team’s finished. Fuckin leave guy! Get out! This is your fault!” Bartender goes “No, Chicago! Stay! I got Bears -3.5” lol

Sometimes you just fit a scheme. Allen clearly just knows how to insert and use this guy. Couple great blitzes today.

Browns is the one we all think we should win. I’ll mark that.

I’ll say split GB. Beat Steelers at home. Win at Niners to lock down wild card. Then, home vs Detroit is a meaningless game. A Bagent game, perhaps.

At Minnesota is a game we definitely WANT. I think this team has been itching for it. But… eh… we’re kinda playing too shitty for me to have faith in that one. I don’t think they’re good. I just think we’re about to pay the toll for all this chaos lol

I mentioned in my initial postgame take that the Bears dropped at least 4 passes that I specifically recall (3 by Zacchaeus and 1 by Monangai). According to Chicago sportscaster Dave Kaplan, they dropped 8. Honestly, I don't remember seeing that many drops, or at least by my definition which is a sure catch that was muffed. I don't know if any of you guys still have a copy of the game and can verify if they really did truly drop 8 gimme passes. It just seems too high, but maybe it's true. Regardless, those never show up on the stat sheets, which made Caleb's performance look worse than it actually was.

Now we have been playing some bottom feeders,and we are doing what we were supposed to do vs them,now lets see what we can do vs teams better than us.

Eagles,Packers,SF and Detroit,possibly Minnesota next week......all better than the teams we have beaten.

Weird shit about that, is I think that drop at Washington was his first of the season. He had caught fucking everything prior to that, including some clutch 3rd downs.

Zaccheus caught some big time balls for Jayden Daniels last season,and I have not seen one this year.....thought he would do the same this season.

Darnell Wright started off the this season a little shaky and then got injured and came back fast and since then he's been damn near elite. Especially in the run game.

Benedet didn't have his best game yesterday in pass pro but he at least puts a hell of a lot more effort into it than Backspin Jones ever did. He's a project but at least at this moment he's a project you can live with.

The drops were bad. They've been bad all year and they were next level bad yesterday. The ball to Rome was a little long but it's catchable. That one is more on Caleb than Rome but you still need that ball caught. The ones to Oz were 100% on the receiver. Meanwhile Burden and Loveland caught everything thrown to them.

Speaking of Burden....watch this dude run routes and stop on a f'n dime. He does not run routes like a rookie. The targets going to OZ need to go to him instead.

The Warren/Loveland stuff can probably take a nap now. Yeah Warren is probably the better player at this point but honestly if Loveland continues what he is currently doing....I'm totally fine with it. Loveland blocks and he is a massive mismatch in the middle of the field. We have a real tight end. Not saying he's gonna beast every week but the kid can play.

I'm worried what better offenses can do to this defense. I'm worried what even Jordan Love can do to this defense. It's not good. Yes they get turnovers but the pass defense is scary bad. The run defense has gotten much better over the last month or so but still regresses horribly at times. They are better when Billings is on the field for sure.

CJ Gardner-Johnson is second on this team in sacks. He's been here two weeks.

Noah Sewell is absolute trash. His brother got 99% of the football talent. Noah is an absolute liability.

Caleb Williams has a laundry list of things he has to improve on. Accuracy being #1. Knowing which way to roll out the pocket is probably #2. Not seeing open receivers when they are directly ahead of him #3. But man does he make up for some of his short comings in a big way. How many sacks did he avoid? How many plays that should have been negative did he turn into net positive? And when he was needed the most he showed up yet again. Yes, I'd prefer he play that way in the 2nd and 3rd quarters too. That's where he's been weak. It would be nice to skate away from a team mid game and have garbage time in the 4th quarter. But it's also nice to have a QB with the clutch gene as well. He's only 23 and he just played his 26th game. Future is bright if he continues to accept coaching.

You know the oline is doing their job when it doesn't matter who is running the ball and you still see positive runs.

There are likely to be some bad losses over the next few weeks when we play better opponents with more competent offenses. It's coming. But there are still a lot of winnable games on the schedule. 10 wins isn't far fetched. And that was probably most peoples everything needs to go right high water mark for this year.

This would be a much different team had JJ and Gordon been healthy this whole time. It's staggering how much the thin CB room has changed this defense. Just staggering.

Pretty sure he hadn't had a drop til the Washington game. Early on in the season he was Williams' go-to guy on 3rd down it seemed. He's fallen off a bit of late, and yesterday he was awful (to be fair, it was the first cold game of the year, but shitty nonetheless)
